Yeah but green wasn't a shooter last year. Lakers won in spite of him.

The best thing about this draft is the board exploding. I’ll be half in the wrapper buy the time the Celtics pick someone at 14 who I have to go right to google to find out who the **** they are.

The Detroit/Houston swap has to be money laundering. Houston spent 4.6 million to buy the 2021 second round Lakers pick. It's the last pick in the draft, a year from now. That's more than you'll spend on the best UDFA for 3 seasons. Did Ferttita just do it to flex to Harden, like, oh you turned down 50 million, I can turn 4.6 into the most useless draft pick you can own.

Ainge just can't seem to get a deal done. Other teams are wary of trading with him.

Gordon Hayward Celtics

"In the hours leading up to Wednesday night’s NBA draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly are interested in Boston Celtics veteran Gordon Hayward.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst noted in his “Hoop Collective” podcast that a potential deal could also involve Cavs center Andre Drummond, in addition to draft picks. The Cavaliers hold the fifth overall pick in the draft, while the Celtics have three first-round selections, though none higher than the 14th pick."

If Hayward is opting in could be Hayward and 14 for Drummond and 5

Is CLE gonna pay him $45M a year? Why would Gordo be interested in CLE? This one absolutely makes zero sense IMO

Agreed, and the 4 guys will be either short for their position, can't shoot but D up, or an overweight injury-prone big guy. This guy drafted Fab Melo & Sully

Unclear. Stephen A Smith is currently screaming at me about it, but he doesn’t seem to have any more info than we do.

I suggested this trade awhile back. Rather than lose Hayward for nothing, if he's decided to leave, getting Drummond and the #5 is a great return for us. He will extend his range out to 3 at a respectable clip imo, he can defend down low (not so much the perimeter but how is that any different from Theis?), rebound, is a good passer for a center and he can be the diver in PnR. #5 pick allows us to take Haliburton to be our PG of the future or Okongwu to take over for when Drummond leaves.

I understand this from CLE perspective because it'll be easier for them to move Hayward for a 1st at the deadline than Drummond and the pick will be in a much stronger draft (21). They have badly needed a wing and now they get it. At #14 they can draft Smith or Precious to replace Drummond or a wing like Woodard II to be their 4 with Love their 5. I don't like the players that have been mocked to them at #5. Since they have used so much draft capital on guards, I can't see them taking Haliburton or Hayes. Obi isn't worth a lottery pick let alone #5 and maybe they don't feel comfortable with anyone else so they can move back.

Hayward gets to play with shooters and he'd be a primary playmaker so he could build his value back up for what is looking like a weaker than first thought 2021 draft class. Makes sense all around. People should be really excited about the prospect of this going down but oddly aren't in the slightest. Weird.

don't get me wrong, i'd love it. i know drummond's value is somewhere below florida swampland but i'd like to see what he could do in a proper defensive system. he's like kanter plus.

i just don't understand why they'd give up the 5th pick to get hayward. they could just draft okongwu and wait for drummond to leave in a year. yeah gordo is more valuable but not by that much.

Okongwu is a tad overrated imho. He's 6'8.5" in socks and not that big. I'm not sure how highly rated he'd be if not for people mistakenly believing he was the next Bam. I'm not sure there's much difference between him and Paul Reed. I like him. I LOVE him for us because we already have our superstar and great players after that. Okongwu is a player a team with championship aspirations takes to be their #4 or #5, not for teams like CLE that arguably doesn't have a #1 or #2 player on their roster. Like I said, maybe they believe they'll get their guy at #14. And maybe they feel they can move Hayward at the deadline easier than Drummond so they can get a highly coveted 2021 draft pick which they feel makes up for the move from #5 to #14 in a deep but shallow draft class. They're one of the worst run team in the NBA. Nothing has to make sense for why teams like that make moves like this.

Does Klay have a no-trade clause? Hayward for Klay would be perfect right now.

Also this injury to thompson could be catastrophic for the warriors. Possibly another lost year for the warriors as well as paying a max contact to a guy for a other year while he is injured.
