Hawks dude with another nothing burger:

Last update is what he just told me

Expect to be surprised. A lot of talk, could be smoke but just above everyone is positioning themselves right now. The cost to move up to 1-3 is sky freaking high if you aren't already there. A lot of teams are working on deals. A lot of 2nd rounders will be traded for vets.

Danilo is not in a SnT right now. KOC ish might still have legs.

Nothing on Golden State.

Nothing on Houston

Nothing on Boston

Nothing on Atlanta

Philadelphia is not done making moves but they plan on keeping their 1st.

Dallas isn't trading their 1st.

Curry For Three is right. Kemba/14/26/30 for Curry.

They said he couldnt put weight on the leg, you absolutely can do that with an ACL. Also happened in a workout. That feels like Achilles to me.

So the 16th pick for a salary dump and future first. Not bad really.

Good for DET. As long as this isn't an unprotected 2021 this is a good move that gives them options. I had them trading up with the Warriors for Wiseman (if they weren't signing Wood) or Ball (if they were signing Wood) to give them a Big Three (2020 1st, Sekou, Blake) It's been too long since DET was a major player. Their 2004 run, with no superstars, was exceptional and doesn't get enough credit.

Idc if we use the picks but ffs don't lose Gordon for nothing. We got Morey out here making moves. Losing Ky, Horf and Gordon for squat would be straight up a bad job by Danny.

I suggested this trade awhile back. Rather than lose Hayward for nothing, if he's decided to leave, getting Drummond and the #5 is a great return for us. He will extend his range out to 3 at a respectable clip imo, he can defend down low (not so much the perimeter but how is that any different from Theis?), rebound, is a good passer for a center and he can be the diver in PnR. #5 pick allows us to take Haliburton to be our PG of the future or Okongwu to take over for when Drummond leaves.

I understand this from CLE perspective because it'll be easier for them to move Hayward for a 1st at the deadline than Drummond and the pick will be in a much stronger draft (21). They have badly needed a wing and now they get it. At #14 they can draft Smith or Precious to replace Drummond or a wing like Woodard II to be their 4 with Love their 5. I don't like the players that have been mocked to them at #5. Since they have used so much draft capital on guards, I can't see them taking Haliburton or Hayes. Obi isn't worth a lottery pick let alone #5 and maybe they don't feel comfortable with anyone else so they can move back.

Hayward gets to play with shooters and he'd be a primary playmaker so he could build his value back up for what is looking like a weaker than first thought 2021 draft class. Makes sense all around. People should be really excited about the prospect of this going down but oddly aren't in the slightest. Weird.

don't get me wrong, i'd love it. i know drummond's value is somewhere below florida swampland but i'd like to see what he could do in a proper defensive system. he's like kanter plus.

i just don't understand why they'd give up the 5th pick to get hayward. they could just draft okongwu and wait for drummond to leave in a year. yeah gordo is more valuable but not by that much.

Okongwu is a tad overrated imho. He's 6'8.5" in socks and not that big. I'm not sure how highly rated he'd be if not for people mistakenly believing he was the next Bam. I'm not sure there's much difference between him and Paul Reed. I like him. I LOVE him for us because we already have our superstar and great players after that. Okongwu is a player a team with championship aspirations takes to be their #4 or #5, not for teams like CLE that arguably doesn't have a #1 or #2 player on their roster. Like I said, maybe they believe they'll get their guy at #14. And maybe they feel they can move Hayward at the deadline easier than Drummond so they can get a highly coveted 2021 draft pick which they feel makes up for the move from #5 to #14 in a deep but shallow draft class. They're one of the worst run team in the NBA. Nothing has to make sense for why teams like that make moves like this.

If Celtics had to take Drummond who knows they may immediately flip him for one of OKCs centers.

Again any trade would be about the 5th pick

Andre & 5 for Hayward & 14 would be amazing. But I’m skeptical.

Wonder what Klay being out for the season would cause the Warriors to do.
