It cracks me up when people call dudes by their first names.

Now Lebron, Kobe, Steph, etc I get because they have earned it and are beloved. But Deni?

He’s Avdija to me until he does something in the NBA.

It’d be like me calling Wiseman James. James is really tall. James is athletic. It’d be like I’m in love or something.

At least Luka has fully earned first name status. Especially since it sounds cool lol.

Not serious

It just a lot easier to spell out deni than avdija

so basically every other player in this draft has flaws here and there that discourage from picking them but avdija is avg at worse even in the aspects of his game where so far he has been below avg. ok.
at this point I wonder why the wolves don't select him with the first overall pick considering he's the BPA in this draft class. the hype on the guy is unjustified to the point of getting annoying for what he's been displayed so far on the floor.

I think those guys are called by their first names mainly because they’re uncommon names in the league.

For example, it was always weird to me whenever I’d hear Bob call KD “Kevin.”

Even on social media, you’d see tweets like:

“1st half stats:

Steph: 15 pts, 4 assists
Klay: 12 pts
Kevin: 16 pts, 5 boards
Draymond: 8 pts, 6 dimes, 6 boards”

For Deni, he has a unique first name so I can see why people would already refer to him by his first.

BTW....I got a hunch it's going to be a trade down to Chicago ... picking up an athletic PF/Center (still only 21?) AND Deni....

BTW part II - Let's not forget that Deni allows back up to Klay in case Klay has issues with his knee throughout the year. Adding Deni means you can move Wiggins to the 2 guard :)

Curry, Wiggins, Deni, Draymond, Looney/Chris/Marc

or closing small ball lineup

Curry, Wiggins, Paschall, Deni, Draymond

I think Deni is short for "light years". Hope you're wrong.

I think so. Chris is undersized and really not a very good defender. Carter is big enough to bang in this league...and from the video I've seen he has much better touch/hands ...and goes left very well (lefty hook). His shot from three looks sound...although so far he's only shot 20% on limited shooting.

Let's get this started. Tired of pearl-clutching over Klay's leg.
