Too Soon.
Need to see what happens with #16 & get the legitimate particulars on what Ariza's cap hit will be.

Yeah, it appears $7.1 mil is the number that will hit the cap.
Still need to see what happens with 16.

Re: Grade the Ariza trade!
I think the protections could of been better. We get #16 in a subpar draft and take on Ariza and looks like we gave up a future first that will be better than our 16...when he kids will likely be available

Dude if we end up giving up a better pick, this trade ain't the problem.pistonpat wrote:I think the protections could of been better. We get #16 in a subpar draft and take on Ariza and looks like we gave up a future first that will be better than our 16...when he kids will likely be available

Re: Grade the Ariza trade!
Could have done better with that cap space it seems.
The truth is, a lottery protected pistons future first and the second rounder we gave up should be enough to land a #16 or #17 pick in this draft, especially when teams like Houston are looking to get under the tax they don't want that first round pick salary.
Taking on that Ariza salary AND giving up a future first and second is just too much for #16 unless someone really great is there for us that turns into a key player for us. Honestly it might be hard to get someone better than Brown at #16.

Re: Grade the Ariza trade!
Ok after seeing who we took I dont like this trade. Whatever player that 1st rounder is will be more valuable. This was a mid first rounder in a weak draft and we reached.

I went meh to start, but this is bad. Hope he turns out great, but that was a really low value pick at #16. Not good asset management.

Yeah, I agree pick of Stewart makes this trade unattractive.
While Stewart can surprise us all and pan out well (hopefully he does), but right now its not a welcomed move.
