Rockzin4 wrote:My thoughts on the draft for “looking back and laughing purposes”:

Big board of players I like (lottery):

Ball - sucker for elite passers even though it’s not an important skill if you can’t shoot/score
Wiseman - he’s a big man but that’s still value in this league. Mobile Hassan Whiteside or whatever slight he gets is still a good player
Big O - solid
Hayes - best pg?
Vassell - solid
Haliburton - may not be special at all but a can’t miss solid player imo
Okoro - I think he’ll be a very good defender. Don’t really mind the scoring/shooting issues

Meh:
Deni seems average - love euros but his comparisons don’t make sense. If he played for West Virginia and was named Danny Avondale...
Kira- A player like Kira just sums up how absurd drafts are. Players like Sexton, Graham, Carson Edwards, Lonzo, hell even Fox get poop poop’d on but this guy is suppose to be next up? Why?
Edwards - Something about the guy throws me off. Body language, interviews, inconsistent play. Saw in him college, he was often bad. He admits he was often bad. When a 1 pick gets tagged with the “he’ll need a good environment” tag HUGE RED FLAG.
Poku - He’s a gamble. Perfect for like the nuggets. If he’s a baller you get all the praise. If he bust no one will care in this draft. So why not.

Hell no tier:
Theo Maldeon - Jesus Christ. No. People want this guy?
Tre Jones - didn’t like his brothers face. Tre’s face is slightly better but it’s still a no for me.

Players I like for the Magic:
Josh Green - I don’t have a “guy” in this draft but I still like him but I understand the moans if we pick him. He would be my guy 1a if you put a gun to my head
Tyrell Terry - my guy 2b. Reminds me of a poor mans McCollum.
Aaron Neismith - seems like a good rotation guy to add to any team.
Cole Anthony - I like him. Surprised how much of a hard time he gets. Reminds me of a super saiyan DJ Augustin.
Tyrese Maxell - solid spark plug on defense and offense

Rest of the guys in the draft seem to be alright. Some GM is probably going to draft a HOF and look like a genius but this draft is random to me. Then again I’m not a huge draft guy.

I like Cole Anthony as well and have a gut feeling we should take him if he's still available by the 15th pick.
Kilian Hayes is not listed as a pure PG, rather PG/SG combo guard. Good fit here as well, but he'll likely be gone by the 9-10th pick.

What a roller coaster that would be, then the season starts AG gets hurt and Cliff starts Birch at PF next to Vuc ahead of Wiseman, Okeke, and Bamba.

Riots in Orlando ensue !

Best. Scorer. Available.

No more of these big guys who can't score, get me a scorer, and call it a night.

Cole Anthony, Nesmith, Hayes, Vassel, Lewis.

I don't care, I just want a scorer who can give us some power at our wing position or help us move up from the bottom of the NBA in terms of offensive ratings.

Score-first point guard who can play on or off the ball. Good defender who can move his feet and keep up with speedy guards with lateral quickness. Has an explosive first step, and can pressure defenses by attacking downhill.
A little bit of questionable shot selection and can become a better passer in pick and roll situations, but that's all aspects of his game that can be fixed by intelligent coaching staff and it comes with experience in the league.
He's a dynamic guard, coach Calipari praised him a lot recently (not a surprise), but still, I believe he will have a good career. Seems to be highly motivated, plays with a heart. Also comes from a basketball family and background, son of Greg Anthony.

How do you feel about Cole Anthony in a Magic uniform this season?

I would be fine with it except, I bet Celtics will draft Anthony at #14 just to screw the Magic

Klay Thompson Achilles injury is rumored. Oh boy, maybe Fournier could be a good one year rental for them, and not screw them long term. I doubt this works, but:

AG+Fournier+15 for Wiggins+2

Maybe? No? Okay.

Trading 2nd rounders already. Usually they wait after the draft started to waive the white flag...

Well that trade is not happening with the Wiseman pick. Back to wondering what is going to happen with this draft where there are no clear cut amazing superstar talents, but a lot of solid picks.

we were never going to get as high as 2. I think Knicks, Suns, or Spurs; but only if a player we're high on is still there.

I think Wiseman will be the best player in this draft by a considerable margin. He’s the dude I’ve created in 2K for years lol

He went #3 overall to the Hornets. Time to call the Hornets and see if they interested in trading him.

I'm not sure about Lamelo, something just seems off about him, and I would rather just try to move up to get a more sure fire offensive talent with an actual shooting motion. No offense to your want for him, but I am just not hyped up on him.
