Im a whatever and have to trust AK and his guys did what they needed to. Seems like a reach but cant totally bash it right now. I really liked Okongwu as a sleeper pick.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Ugh. We are a just a helpless franchise. For gods sake, thank god the last dance came out this year, or we would continue being a hapless joke of a franchise through those last couple months. We aggressively went back at earning our title of trash franchise.

Even as a raw athletic wing, is he really that much better than Okoro?

I guess we'll just see. :dontknow:

I hope my initial reaction was wrong but I feel like I felt when the Bears made the Trubisky trade. I'm gonna try to talk myself into this too I'm sure.

Peeps need to chill.

Williams will get to play and contribute immediately.

Detroit was trying like hell to move up to #3 to get him.

Detroit is also a trash franchise lately so not sure this is a strong argument.

Very odd choice.

Hopefully he pans out for us though.

Marvin Williams in 2005 was the #2 overall pick. He was a freshman 6th man for a ridiculously deep UNC team.

Williams was freshman 6th man for a stacked FSU team that went 11 deep with its rotation.
Brian Geltzeiler: You see Mark Jackson getting a head coaching job as early as next year?

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

He barely played in college and was one of the youngest players in this Draft, why do people think he's gonna come in and play right away? If anything, this feels like a move made for 2 years from now if he develops and not this year.

At 19? As a bench warmer in college? Naw, don’t talk yourself into it, he’s a nobody with no experience. First year, here he’ll just sit on the bench behind Otto Porter and provide nothing.

I mean Coby White had no business playing the minutes he did.

It's not like we have anyone worth a damn blocking Williams from getting minutes.

I honestly think he’ll play. It’s a little different when you can play defense and a role is a little easier to find. I can see him playing the 15 mins as a 3 & D guy off the bench at the 3 & 4.

If Advija turns into something... Really hard to excuse the Front office here. Especially when the bulls appear to be keeping the roster as is. If they are trying to win now, the Patrick Williams pick makes even less sense.

I'll admit I don't know much about him, but if the reports on his D is legit, he might be able to carve out a small number of rotation minutes this year.

I actually don’t care whether he started or not. The fact he screams PF, and not super quick footed PF at that, does concern me a bit.

But whatever. The beauty of the early start is we’ll see soon enough.

If Porter is healthy quite frankly he might be our best player lol
