Probably not, but no one on this team can

Haliburton is such a Spurs guy that it wouldn't shock me if he was picked there.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Not saying he won’t be the pick. Just that I don’t think it’s set in stone.

Woj does that because ESPN doesnt want him to fully spoil it like Shams is doing, Shams and Stein already said its Deni on Twitter

The problem with Advija is that both he and Rui are bad defenders

But Advija is so young. We can't put him in a box. At the same time, we really need to figure out this defensive thing.

Horrible pick, Deni has no chance of being good statistically. Just no chance. All this eye test stuff doesn't matter. Crunch the numbers and the percentages just don't work out.

Haliburton had all the stats, all the advanced stats. A rim protector would have been awesome. Deni won't be better than Casspi. It doesn't matter if he can "playmake" if everybody is sinking off of you. This kind of shows Sheppard is sipping his own kool-aid and thinks he's smarter than he is.

Awful. Haliburton was the obvious choice

Is there something wrong with Halliburton? All these teams are passing on him. Suns just took Jalen!!

Lol here come the Deni takes. At 9 he's by far the BPA.

Jalen Smith went ahead of Haliburton. Haliburton has significant concern about his durability.

Strikes me as a bet on the future. You have a guy that was generally projected to go 3-5, falling to us at 9. If the eval is right, we got a mega steal. Reading the write ups, like a lot of kids his age, some of his game is there, some is not (worrisome that the shot may not be there, that's about the last thing I want to "not be there" other than passion for the game). Still, happy w/the pick. This was a draft bereft of difference making talents, but landing this kid gives us a chance to hit a triple or home run, while risking landing a bust. I'm fine with that. You don't contend in this league without hitting triples or home runs with picks (unless you're team plays in a city all NBA players want to move too).

Well, heck! I'm excited. Hard to see us pass on Haliburton, but Avdija gives us another guy who really knows how to play and pass. Add him to John, Bradley, Brown, Rui, Bertans --- we've got a lot of guys who can fly and pass.
I didn't think he would fall. Interesting.
I was just watching clips the other day of Tom Gugliotta.
this guy could be a supercharged version of Googs.

Mike Schmitz said on the air that he would not be surprised if, a few years from now, we look back & call Deni the best player out of this draft!

Fine. But... who's got time to wait? :)

Probably the best thing for you guys is that my whole 10-rookie thing was dependent on trading down. So that's not happening. In fact, off the top of my head I can't see any way to get more than 5 guys now.... Boring.

In short: I don't know why, but I like the pick!

Would like to get Azubuike. Wonder if he'd last till our next pick.
