This spells the end of Hutchison for all intents and purposes IMO

Well if anything, it proves Givony still has legit sources. This was from Nov 9th.

Williams — a 6-foot-8 wing out of Florida State — is the big winner of the pre-draft process thus far. He has boosted his stock from outside the lottery at the conclusion of the college season to getting looks as high as the No. 4 pick, sources say.

Definitely felt that way when I found out he wasn’t a starter at FSU. Doesn’t mean he will turn out like Trubisky of course, the mind stretches to find patterns.

Just going “on record” as being in favor of the pick. Thumbs up AKME.

If I’m wrong, and Williams ends up sucking, I’ll blame it on 2020.

I think it might have been Zach Lavine. IIRC he didn't start either.

yeah it took what 3 years to become a regular contributor

To be fair Zach tore his ACL in his third season. It took him time to fully recover.

I didn't watch him much in his 2nd season, but he put up decent stats.

Hutchison was doing that fine all by himself tbh. He doesn't get a second NBA contract unless he improves quite a bit.

At 19? As a bench warmer in college? Naw, don’t talk yourself into it, he’s a nobody with no experience. First year, here he’ll just sit on the bench behind Otto Porter and provide nothing.

He was 4th on the team in mpg. I'm not sure that 'bench warmer' is an entirely accurate statement.

Ugh, Williams is a forward, not a wing. He doesn’t play like a wing on either end, but particularly on O. His future is at the 4.

Patrick reminds me of Reggie from The Chi show, you never know he can turn out to be the steal of the draft thats what i'm hoping for.

I kind of get a better defending, worse ball handling Jeff Green kind of vibe from him. And I'm ok with that.

I for one, am really happy with this pick.

With this being such an even draft class with lots of players with positives and also glaring negatives, I personally don't think this pick is a reach in the slightest.

I like his physical attributes, his current skill set, and he looks to have a great head on his shoulders. Not to mention, he is one of the youngest in the draft class, so he has the potential for so much growth and he already has a mans body.

I'm not surprised a lot of Bulls fans are down on him, and that opinion may not even change during his rookie season, but I think long term he has the potential to be a special player. I think the Bulls got a good one here.

Count me in on someone who is a big fan of this pick.

Lol people are overreacting as usual, meanwhile this draft is a complete crapshoot outside the top 3.

Calm down.

Well Lauri is largely more of a 3 offensively so they can probably complement each other.

As somebody who's never seen this kid play, I've read that he's versatile enough to guard 4 positions, but then I'm also hearing that he has no lateral quickness and isn't the fleetest of foot. That doesn't sound like somebody who projects to be a great defender. Which is it?

Pandemonium! Love this board. (Really, I do love this board. We live and die emotionally together.)

Williams is an eyebrow raising pick at #4, sure. It's a weird draft. It's a projected weak draft. If they had their intel telling them Williams is potentially special, roll the dice. Go get him.

Hopefully it works out.

Not quite Trubisky bad. Remember, with Mitch we spent our top pick, AND other good picks to trade up. Atleast we only used #4 straight up and not other picks on top of it like with Mitch

I'll be honest, I hate this pick. He looks like an undersized PF that does not have an offensive move in his entire toolkit. All he can do is catch and dunk with an occasional wide open jumpshot that looks incredibly slow.

Idc what anyone says....if you dont start on your own team....how are you a top 4 pick. Only played 23 min a game? Can't justify this to me.

Wheeeee tiny 4 with two 4s that we are already desperate to develop.
