Re: Obi Toppin to the Knicks @ #8
I mean he wasn't my go to guy, but we can stop pretending that they're aren't things to like about him. If his three pointer proves to be effective, he'll be valuable. Obviously defensively he needs work, but hopefully Mitch is able to help cover for him some. He can be a stretch four, a beast in transition and at least he plays smart on the offensive end. He's home, hopefully he plays with that passion on a nightly basis.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

We picked a 3 quarter player that needs to be surrounded by the likes of Frank and Mitch
We already tried that..... Enes Kanter, Julius Randle, Amare Stoudemire, Bargnani, literally too many to name
This organization never learns and it never will

I think he’s a good pick for 8. Hopefully Thibs and Payne put him to work on defense.

RJ and Obi is a nice combo and really solid building blocks moving forward

Now we need a PG to fall to 23. I like Obi, too much offensive talent not to be a productive player at the very least. Just need a PG to make the high flying front court pop and space the floor. One of Flynn, Hampton, Maxey, Winston maybe?

I don’t hate this... don’t love it either, but a lot of guys dropped, hopefully we have a chance at a decent guard at 23.. this could play out how the front office wanted..
If nothing else to have a front office have a plan come to fruition might be the best thing to see

Just realized Knicks got the most athletic frontcourt in the NBA between Obi and Mitch

What a surprise.

Re: Obi Toppin to the Knicks @ #8
He may end up a bust, but him being old isn't a Wesley Johnson situation. He's old because he was legitimately like Steve Rogers in Captain America. The Dude wasn't able to dunk until he was a senior in high school, he was 6'2" as a junior. He took a PG year and grew more. He started just 15 games his first year at Dayton, and then won the Naismith Award this year when he started every game this season.
But the man was a scrawny guard when he was 17. Physically, he has had an extraordinarily unique path as compared to your typical NBA draftee, and him being 22 is a direct result of that. Hopefully, because he hasn't arrived at this point for the same reasons, he doesn't follow the same path as the other older draftees!

With Thibs mentioning that he wants seasoned PG, either we roll with DSj/Frank or bring in PG via trade. I doubt we keeping Elfrid. What you guys think?
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

Realizes he needs to learn defense, and is excited for Thibs to help him get there.

RJ Hampton at 23 would be the swing for the fences draft. I’m thinking Maxey might be higher on the board. Flynn’s stock is pretty high too.
RIP magnumt
thanks for everything, thibs.
