Bad trade for Detroit. I figured a tear down but getting 50 cents on the dollar makes no sense. I can see Rose deals for a second rounder later tonight.

Man Kennard is a guy we should have seen what he could do as a #1 option this season. What a **** trade for us. Absolutely hate it for us.

Well we are definitely in a full blown rebuild.

i absolutely love kennard playing next to guys like kawhi and paul george. not only can he be a tertiary playmaker but he can spread the floor for those guys and give them an option for off-ball screen actions.

It feels like we're going to be watching Kennard vs Brown in the NBA finals this year. Both FAs next summer both going to get PAID after big years on new championship contending teams.

Kennard was undersold for sure. He is going to really help the Clippers, as long as his knees check out. Was my favorite player on the Pistons, his IQ and skills make him a very good player to observe on the floor. Will miss him and wish him the best.

I’m not happy that Luke was traded, but it always seemed to be on the cards.
If he can stay healthy, he’s going to have a great season.

I can see the Pistons may have not wanted to pay him next year, but to get so little for him is bad. Troy is no Sam Presti for sure. We did not sold low on just about everything. Even the protected 1st to help Houston was not as protected as you would think.

I hope I am wrong but Weaver first week of moves have been disappointing to say the least.

Totally agree. His knees are chronic issues unfortunately but it’s not like he was built on athleticism. Wish him well, but no more Mitchell comparisons at least.

You guys are crazy.. lol

It was time to move on. Even if he explodes, he will require a 60-80 million dollar deal. It won’t work here. I love Kennard too.

We didn’t do bad here.

Only way Weaver can really pull this off is if Rose and Blake are gone too.

Couldn’t have asked for a better night and we can still root for Kennard a bit.

Luke's knee issues and the season ending before he returned to the court definitely lowered his value at this point. I hope he holds up but Saddiq Bey is a better fit for our timeline and budget. Good trade IMO.

I’m not opposed to trading him but for 19 in a iffy draft? Seems like bad timing.

What better time than now? When hes injured again and he wont be worth anything more than a second rounder or when hes healthy and MAYBE worth a late pick to a contender? Said for months now hes worth a 15-21 range pick player in this draft and it happened (had him going to boston or philly) and we were lucky to draft Bey. A perfect plug n play piece with toughness and high IQ. A pick competent front offices make. I had him going 16 to Portland before the covington deal

The Pistons are experts at trading low regardless of who is in the GM seat it seems. Andre, for example. Didn’t move Blake when it was obvious this team was going nowhere and Blake was playing like an all-star in 2019. Didn’t move Derrick Rose last year when his contract had more value and he was playing his best. Trades Kennard after missing tons of time and losing all of the momentum he had going.

Now we get to watch Christian Wood likely walk and get nothing out of that asset.

I guess it’s fine if totally bottoming out is actually going to happen. But in that case I’d rather make moves for picks further in the future during better draft but that’s just me and I suppose the draft is a crapshoot anyways.

I should clarify that I did agree with the trade. With the rebuild in full swing, kennard wasn't going to fit and his knees are a huge concern. I like kennard as a player, but he wasnt fitting into what weaver is doing. Bey has every chance to be just as good as Luke but cheaper and younger.
