Sources: New Orleans picking RJ Hampton at No. 24 and trading him to Denver.

****, we did get RJ Hampton! That's an interesting one. I won't what we gave up. Did we just enter the Holliday trade?

Re: 2020 Draft : Future Nugs
This Zeke looks like interesting person, but I hope this PF choice not means we losing Grant, but we chose him as best player left.
If we re-sign Grant, with MPJ and Bol ability to play PF, and Zeke and Cancar around, I guess we will not offer Millsap new contract.
I expected to see guard (Hampton or Bolmero) so I like we trade for Hampton.

No good team in the league drafts a guy in the 20s and expects them to contribute the following season. This will likely not affect any of the free agent plans.

Why a PG, we have like 3?
Until Morris gets traded, free agent who we won't be able to pay, need a replacement....meet RJ Hampton.

See him more as a Plumlee replacement

What abou PJ?
I could really see some trades, where Murray would get more minutes at 2 spot maybe

Looks like we drafted our backup center.
He is listed as a PF and looks like he moves well for his size, I would have no problem with him being the long term answer as our 3rd big. Sign a guy like Koufos and we are set at Center.

Dozier and Hampton are both combo guards with Hampton being more of a true scorer and Dozier being the better defender. They would make a good pair as backups.

Re: 2020 Draft : Future Nugs
I do not know much about Nnaji but I think if the front office was high enough to trade for another pick and take Hampton than that must mean they really like both guys.
Personally I can see Hampton of being a very good long term 6th man with potential to be our starting SG in a few year if he fixes his shot.

With another guard coming in does this mean we could be trading/losing one of Morris (hope not), Harris or Barton?

Early in the year, Hampton was projected as a top 5 pick, the talent is there just needs to work on his shot. He was working out with former Nugget sharpshooter SF Mike Miller

He looks like a combo guard with good size and skill. A good prospect. He is not ready to unseat any veteran yet.
I think this has been a good draft as both pics have upside, fill needs and have good size for the positions they will play. This will strengthen the bench at least and we know TC finds gems through the draft.
Canned in Denver.

Could easily see Hampton (and perhaps Nnaji) as our two-way players in the G-league

Very likely. Good prospects to develop. Jumping back into the draft to pick up Hampton sounds similar to moving into the draft to pick up Bol last year. That turned out pretty well.

If these guys pan out look what we have as our future bench
PF Bol Bol
C Zeke Nnaji
SG/PG PJ Dozier
PG/SG RJ Hampton
