Maybe 2023 will be better. A second round then might be worth it

This draft looked weak.. but I only started looking late. Next couple of years I'll be paying more attention because they look like excellent drafts.

My final thoughts.

On Toppin -

No hes not perfect and hes not a young Amare. Some folks have said Arnold Amare. If we have a healthy relatively inexpensive 22 year old that plays like an old Amare that's actually a great pick.

No hes not a PG...but he was the best talent at 8 and the Yankees biggest need is talent (not a PG...unless that PG is the best talent). With Ball and Hayes gone there was no PG that was close to Toppin from a pure talent standpoint.

Offense is needed and Toppin was the most potent impact player offensively left on the board. The Knicks struggled more on the offensive end than defensively especially with offensive efficiency. Toppin ended up 3rd in NCAA history with offensive efficiency.

And no PG other than Ball was going to be able to come in immediately and move the needle.

On Quickly -

Not a fan of this pick. Hes got none PG skills in a PG body. Yes he can shoot and defend but blah. Hopefully the Knicks scouting team is right.

Should've hired an actual GM/POBO like Presti or Troy Weaver who both did nice jobs tonight

Bro you spazzing, go to bed, or better yet pick a new team to root for, if having a solid if not spectacular draft is giving you this much trouble.
If you call that solid...I wonder what you would call a bad draft...maybe if the Knicks sold all the picks they had for cash. That was a fng disaster...

As I've said before, Dolan only hires his friends or celebrities for this position.

I think the plan was Hampton at 25 and Quickley at 33, but then Denver traded back in front of us and blew it up

If we learned one thing, Leon and crew doesn't keep things quiet. Where there is smoke there is fire.

We obviously knew all about Toppin and the Quickley connection was there all along.
