Re: 2020 Draft Night Thread
I can't see how Joe will ever do anything better than Shake in the next 3 years so I feel it's a bit of a waste. But it's 49 so who cares.

Two Questions
1. What players are fitting in an $8 million exception and a $2 million exception?
2. What assets are we trading for these difference makers making so little?
If there's legit interest in bringing Noel back as the backup C, it seems the obvious solution is sign and trade adding him to the Horford deal. That would leave the MLE for an upgrade over Scott at the backup PF, Markieff Morris perhaps.

We absolutely cannot go into the season with Maxey as our only "3 level scorer". He's a good talent, but we'll get killed with him starting.

Re: 2020 Draft Night Thread
As for Josh. The shock was I thought he should still hold a little more value with teams especially as an expiring contract so if he didn't rebound you could walk away. If the trade had been Josh/36 for Seth/Terry, I would have been stoked.

We can't do a sign and trade. We're still not under the apron.

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.

How the **** did Zhaire Smith survive the night?
They say an analytics man doesn't have a heart, but I ran the numbers and nothing can be further from the truth - Sam Hinkie probably

Just get bigs for cheap on the FA market. No need to waste $109M there...
I like Pelle for 10 minutes a game. Not our third big tho.
Mike Scott potentially back?

I understand that but with Ben eating up so many backcourt minutes they are fighting for the same minutes in the rotation. Shake is versatile and he can do all the things Joe can.

I highly doubt Morey is worried about winning next year, it’s all about value right now.
Al was negative, he traded him away.
Currys contract has value for future more then J-Rich. We were not going to re-sign J-Rich. And we are not winning title next year, so... good trade.

Re: 2020 Draft Night Thread
Aside from Jones, I'd like to take a shot on Killian Tillie or Paul Reed.

Glad he has the opportunity, he got injured last season and tried to play through and it hurt him a bit.
I know people are just looking at last year, but his freshman year was really his best year. Had too much pressure on him this year with him and Mason being the only guys on the team that could score at all.
He is a much better shooter than 34.2% from 3.
I actually felt that he should have gone out last year. Was a bit disappointed in his performance this year. That said, there's no denying his shot form is pretty perfect.

Not really. Shake is a guard, Joe is a wing. Ben and Embiid playing with 3 perimeter players is exactly what we want

I think "brilliant" is a little strong, but I'd agree with Ed Kemper here that the Sixers did well today.

Yup big moves
Much cleaner roster construction, positive trade value all around... except for Tobias’ heap of a contract of course

Dotson, Jones, or Powell and I'll be happy. But I'm not expecting us to make this pick.
