I dont think he is slow. Most of the time, he is trying to get the most room to get a pass or shot off. So he slows down, speeds up, jitters, slows. Its like he has 6 gears. The last gear may not be super fast, but the quick changes get you. Check his 3pt shooting.

Maybe you don't like the pick, but Tommy is not EG. Got a player in the 2nd round, and a future asset. Though I don't know if the future 2nd is for 2021 or sometime later.

Excellent!
If it's the 2021 OKC pick that should be pretty good. 2021 is reportedly a strong draft and OKC is likely to miss the playoffs in a brutal western conference. We don't have a 2021 pick as it stands now.
Okay, but the skeptic in me says that because the Wizards traded him the Vit dude likely turns into a very good player,
Where does Winston fit behind Wall, Smith, Napier, and even Troy Brown?
Bye bye Beal.

I don't know what people expected at 53. You got a guy who can play in a rotation right away. You have a guy that can play third point guard and be the backup on nights when Wall is not available on back-to-backs. He's not fast and not a great defender. But tough and smart. He makes winning plays. Great in the PNR. It's refreshing to get an older player in the second round instead of a stash and dash type you had to wait 3-4 years on or an athletic dude with no skills. I think in today's game, guys like Lowry and VanVleet proved you don't have to be super athletic or long or tall at the point if you can shoot the 3 and run the PNR. Not saying Winston is gong to be that good, but I think he has a place in the league.

He can shoot! Can not guard anything or get to rim. I’d rather have kept original pick and draft Ramsey.

Wall is not the future, Smith is not the future, Napier is not the future. Guys like Brown Jr, Hachimura, Bryant, Mathews, Wagner, Avdija, Robinson, Winston and I guess Schofield???? Are the future of this team. All being built around Bradley Beal because he embodies unselfishness and character.
That’s how I view the team anyways. Don’t care about the playoffs next year or star players being happy or not. It’s about good asset management and process, and building a culture.

Napier will be gone. A free agent. Who knows what Troy Brown is and Wall is having his minutes cut down. I would have liked to get Tillman but he went before 37 and Brad has the same agent so...

Everything you just said. The new NBA is about guys that can lead your team with the ball in their hands. Highly competitive smart players that can make the right play in the PNR. You’re aiming for a van fleet/Lowry type with this pick.

It's possible. Not sure if Smith has much value unless you package him and Troy hasn't really found a position yet. But Friday will or could be a big day. A Bertans deal or maybe sign-and-trade.

The Zards will buy at least one second round pick. They’ll use the pick to select either Cassius Winston or Immanuel Quickley.
Looks like I got at least something right.

I'll judge this draft by our UDFA pick ups.

I like the way you see things. I think the harsh reality, however, Is that Wall’s contract isn’t going anywhere and neither is he for anytime soon.
I hope Wall comes back and puts up gigantic numbers. A team like the Clippers might get the idea he’s a championship piece. I doubt it but I can dream.
Winston and Napier both had really strong leadership coming from powerhouse NCAA teams. I like them both.
Right now I would rather see Beal alongside a fundamentally sound PG who defends. Wall is going to dominate the ball and I think Beal will end up forcing shots or just not having as high usage next season.
Winston, IMHO can’t beat the numbers game because of guaranteed contracts.
Bye bye Beal.
