Feeling better now that we found our replacement for Justin James.

Unfortunately don't see it with this pick. Reminds me of Jabari. Body type is similar, has some surprising athleticism but it turns into flashy dunks rather than perimeter separation or consistent defense and I'm concerned about his propensity for TOs. His chance is shooting.

After watching some highlights we could use guys like this when we have big leads. Looks better than DJ. Not afraid to shoot. Me like for a 2nd rounder.

I have some good news for you. We picked this guy at #45 and not #2.

Unfortunately, DJ is significantly better at every other part of the game besides shooting.

On the surface I’d say he’s a much better shooter and a much lesser defender.

There are more role player specialty skill guys than ever before in the 2nd round. Do I think this guy is it? No, does he have a chance? Yes. That's the rise of the triple, he has good balance off the catch, squares up before the ball hits his hands and let's it fly. I'm not mad at it.

He's got a shtikel Otto Porter in his game. Probably will be a better shooter. I could see him backing up Midds.

No, it's you can't teach height. You can teach shooting. I think the Bucks have a shooting coach, so don't tell him he can't teach shooting.

he really can't tho :D

Jabari at 45 would have been a steal. OTOH, this guy is nothing like Jabari coming out of college.

BUT I would have taken the guy who went RIGHT after him. Elleby is a shot maker.

Yeah, if he's at Jabari's level and basically getting paid the minimum, that's perfectly fine.

Any particular reason you say no?

As far as why there are more specialty skill guys than ever? Guys who didn't have a place in this league 10-15 years ago, can shoot their way onto a roster. Korver for example, was an afterthought for years, and it wasn't until Bud used his gravity and made him into a hub of his offense that he really mattered. Korver comes into the league now and he doesn't wait until 31, 32, 33 years old to make a substantial impact. NOW, you've got an UDFA in Duncan Robinson who found his way into Michigan from D3 in Miami. He's not the only gem.

This isn't a man up league any more. Defenses aren't mano y mano. Sure, ball hawking wings help, but being able to make smart rotations takes precedent. Guys can be hidden much easier than they could, again, 10-15 years ago.
