This team needs a **** trade. Nothing has changed. If we go into the season with the same roster we will still struggle to score and we will finish as the 9th or 10th seed in the East.

I'm fine with that but let's have a youth movement and acquire some shooting if that's going to be the case.

With Isaac out for the year and there now being a play in for the 7th and 8th seeds, I feel like this is the year to stop going in for the 8th seed and re tool the roster around Isaac and Fultz for the future.

With that said, I fully expect the FO to make minimal changes. Vucevic, Fournier and Gordon will likely play their seventh season together as a group because there is no real desire for excellence. The team is scared of making bad moves like they did with Oladipo and refuse to make any sort of trade that isn’t totally no risk. I would just like to see the team try and get better, either by improving the roster or taking a step back and getting picks.

The good news is when we are 10th seed, our front office will be fired and maybe we bring in people who actually work for a living instead of letting a dippy bird toy run this org.

The Wolves have so many guards and wings now. Wonder if we could snag Okogie from them...

Not because he's bad, but because he's in that tier of players that always get max contracts even though they're not good enough to justify eating up such a large percentage of a team's cap. The exception is when you're already good, and such a player could realistically put you over the top and help you win a championship. But being bad and acquiring such a player to "get better" is not where you want to be.

This is going slightly off topic but I've always thought that a max contract often overpays players that don't deserve it. Players see it as a status symbol but lots of players get it that don't deserve it.

I think it's just kind of the nature of the salary cap. I think a salary cap is a good thing, because otherwise things would be even more "haves and have-nots" than they already are. On an open market, Lebron gets significantly more money than Hayward or Conley. But a salary cap rubberbands them into the same salary tier. Lebron is still way better than them of course, so his team gets way more bang for their buck.

I'm saying change stuff just that if all GM's were stronger and didn't give out max contracts to players that don't deserve it their teams would be better. Would never happen though as other teams would snag the players instead.

Well, GS has Wolves 1st pick next season (protected 1-3 and unprotected in 2022).

That's a pick you package for Beal not Evan Fournier. I would be shocked if we could get 24-30 next year, and yes they should do that. Based on other trades, it looks like his value is more of a second round variety.

If Golden state used the TPE on Fournier for future picks, we'd be able to use the full MLE this year and be well under the tax threshold. It would also allow us to keep DJ and MCW.

We'll have to forget about Isaac unfortunately. As much as I loved watching him play, he's a lost cause imo.

But I agree anyway what did last season acheive for us? We made the playoffs in the same spot, with the exact same result, although we performed worse in the regular season. And then we get the 15th pick, which doesn't help our cause in any way unless we get very lucky with the pick. All signs point to us going into next year doing the exact same thing with the same roster. Things would be a little different with Isaac, who would on a night to night basis make us much more effective defensively, but luck was not our side with that one. Logically, its blow up time. And I'm not necessarily saying blow it up in a tanking way. Just trade a bunch of these guys and if you try to get good players back fine, at least go into next season trying something different.
