Wolves have a glut of guards at the moment.

Why are you so high on McDaniels? Where do you play him?

Incomplete. It's going to take a few years to determine what Edwards, Bolmaro, and McDaniels will be. There is a massive gap in the range of potential outcomes with the grade ranging from C to A+.

I'm wondering if the Knicks selected Bolmaro for us or for themselves. If for themselves that would explain us giving 25 and 33 for him. Otherwise it is a bit puzzling. Isn't it cool though that one of the two guys we were calling for was our pick at 28.

He can play SF or PF. The two positions we need filled the most.

I like the pick, but have no expectation of him contributing much at the NBA level in the next couple of years.

I'd give the effort a B. I really like acquiring Rubio.

Yeah it may take a while, but he has immense potential.

Yeah, draft grades can always take some time to become clear, but we've taken some big swings hoping for the maximum result here.

Just based on what I went into the night expecting and where we started/finished though, I'll give it a B. If we went Wiseman I'd have given it a B+

For the time being, I’d go B- or C+. Definitely didn’t do anything to wow people. But didn’t fail.

If they pull off a trade or great FA signing, this draft could look a lot better.

Rosas definitely didn’t draft for immediate contributions since Bolmaro and McDaniels will not for awhile and Edwards has work to do.

I didnt get to watch this draft, first one in about 15 years. Which is one reason why i'm flat.

I just don't know what the direction is of this team at the moment...
Is it tooling up for a tilt on 2-3 years?
Are we still going with 1-3-1?
I know Gerss and Gupta look for value in every deal and i'm totally fine with this, not every move needs to be a home run but at some stage we need some continuity and identity. What is that?

If wolves hadn’t practically given Oturu away to the knicks I would have given this an A+ draft. I am okay with getting Ricky back although Oubre jr would have been better.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
