Not exciting. No idea why sac does this. Shoulda traded 35 + 43 to move up if anything..

Future 2nd is the lesser of DET and CHI in 2022 so not a bad pick. I think you guys may have grabbed the better player if Woodard pans out as the 3&D people hope him to be.

I'm fine with this. Would of liked to snag that 27th if possible, but nickles and dimes add up. Moving from 35-40 for a future second is a good deal considering who the teams pick is related to.

Would have preferred Woodard. Keep stacking wings until we find a few that can play. Backup center makes no sense with JJJ getting minutes there and Dieng still capable for backup minutes.

Backup C was something we needed but not pressing like you said due to Dieng. I think Woodard would have been smarter too, but Xavier makes some sense. Also JJJ was in Xavier's wedding not long ago so we have that fun connection as well that may have played a small role.

2022 is supposed to be the double draft, although I’ve read that’s in doubt currently. But if it is, this is a nice move by McNair.

At least it sounds like he has defensive chops although undersized. Maybe a chance at developing an outside shot. JJJ has to take a 1% discount on his next contract for taking his BFF.

At least we have an additional toy under the Christmas tree to play with.

Yeah I'm skeptical it happens at that time. I think the NBA will push that back some with the G-league select team now being a thing plus all the COVID stuff taking their focus.

Tillman looks like our type of beast to me. I am A- with this pick: Draymond Green (light) - high BBIQ, motor, impact, hustle, playmaking.

Don't love the value for memphis - obviously it's a likely 40-something second rounder, but, still, you're probably better off with more bites at the cherry and/or a different cherry.

I agree that backup C doesn't seem like a need. I guess he's insurance if Dieng gets traded at any point (though you shouldn't pencil in a 2nd round rookie as even a viable 3rd stringer) and it sounds like he could play the 4 when JJJ is at the 5. If he can average 5mpg in year one in injury/matchup/foul trouble minutes you'd still have to call that a success at #35.

It does seem like we're leaning in to older players with limited athleticism - basically the anti-thunder.

I really like this only because of the potential of the double draft. Woodard was one of my favorite prospects, but Bey was even higher on my list. I think Bey would have been a terror with Fox. Instead, he’ll be a terror with Doncic.
