Re: Draft Night Part Deux - Knicks with Picks 25 and 33
I'm kinda bummed we couldn't move up to get a PG like Kira or Hali
In 2017, Jazz traded #24 and Lyles for #13. Could #23, Knox, 2023 Mavs pick not get it done?
outside of Cade, 2021 draft isn't a great PG class (I do really like Caleb Love), it's a SG/SF heavy class, and outside of FVV (who I wouldn't pay top $ to) the options in FA are scarce. who's available for trade? Westbrook is a big no

Surprisingly not that pig. More people shocked that he was drafted in the 2nd round and people pissed that the mavs drafted him, but meh.

watching some tape
he looks slow as **** in space.
no way he can be a SF and defend on the perimeter in the NBA. there's no chance. the guy has 0 lateral quickness and has no foot speed. watch how slow he is to get out of his stance on his first step on defense

Saw some Bulls fans saying they would have rather stayed at 7.
Pistons really tried to move up to 3 for Patrick Williams but “had to end up” with Killian Hayes?

I liked the trade up to #23 at 1st, but considering what they ended up doing, what was the point?
at #27 they could've taken Quickley and still had pick #38. they probably wanted someone else at 23 who didn't make it, or maybe expected RJ would still be there when they moved back from 23 to 25?
don't get why they traded #33 either

Re: Draft Night Part Deux - Knicks with Picks 25 and 33
drafting Obi was not good for Knox
I would've tried to use Knox + 23 + 2023 Mavs pick to move up for Kira or Hali. similar to what the Jazz did in 2017

lol you guys... I was mad that we didn't draft terry, but overall did really fine I think. you really think a) thibs would play 3 rookies? and b) we would have found the PG answer at #33 ?
getting that 2023 pick is fine to me. more assets.

man a lot of these reaches in the top 10 are gonna blow up badly - williams, okoro, and hayes in particular. GS, ATL, and NYK are in the best position to make good on their lottery picks IMO. jalen smith is a guy i could see either being the best player from this draft or a complete afterthought. i was never bullish on edwards and putting #1 pick expectations on him is a disaster waiting to happen.

I think we never wanted 3 picks in this draft. We need ALL roster spots for vet help. We Saw a oportunity tô cash in a Second and turn It in a Future asset with 23 for 25+33.

This. He might be fine, but why over Terry and bane?
Could've had him at 33

They were likely trying to package 8 and 23 to move up to 5 and get Obi but they lucked out and got turned down by the cavs so they got stuck with the 23rd pick which was the reason for all that needless movement. As for the 33, it was on twitter that rose was trying to sell it as soon as he got it, I just dont think he wanted to waste his time with too many rookies, so he basically gave that 2nd away.

I wanted halliburton at 8. Once I saw toppin, I figured Knicks had a deal to snag him later. It would've made sense to try to get halliburton

I think it’s a clear signal that we’re going to fill a fair amount of the rotation with vets and there’s a desire to see what we have with the young guys on the roster before bringing in too many new young faces. I’m guessing Taj and Bullock are coming back, and Payton might even return if we don’t go after FVV, Westbrook or Conley.
C: Mitch / Gibson
PF: Randle / Toppin
SF: Bullock / Knox
SG: RJ / Quickley
PG: Payton / DSJ / Frank
We keep some optionality for mid-season moves when hopefully our guys show enough to
be value positive, and if not, waived. Either way, it’s going to be a development year and still a number of roster moves needed over time.

Terry cant shoot or defend as well as him. Theres a reason that Terry dropped to the 2nd round. You may have a point with Bane but I didnt see enough of bane to comment one way or the other.

Maybe they think Frank is our PG of the future.
