Simonovic is a good pick. He has a path to being an NBA rotation player. Skilled, can shoot, passable athlete.

Re: Bulls draft Marko Simonovic at #44
Comps are imperfect, but one I haven’t seen yet. I see some shades of Niko Mirotic on the offensive end.
One poster commented how they are concerned that he starts his shot so low. Niko does the same. Similar ability to put it on the floor.
Big question is whether he’ll be able to fill out, and become strong enough to hold his own on defense like Niko can. Givony’s mention of having a tough time finding a place to hide him on D even in the Adriatic League is very concerning.

Marko is an eerily Joker-esque pick. He was essentially the lesser Poku of the draft. He has tremendous offensive IQ for his age. Brilliant shooting stroke & remarkable ability in the pnr/pnp. I have high hopes for him
He’s currently 6’10 & 215 lbs, which is where the question marks come in, as he’s a complete liability on D at the moment, but if he can toss on some weight & get into Donovan’s system ASAP, he could be a valuable piece
I really hope they don’t stash him; get him into an NBA gym ASAP; he’s ready
I just have to say, I am very very impressed with how AKEVS handled this draft. They went for SIZE & upside over everything, two things the Bulls desperately yearn for. Bravo & kudos to them. Go big or go home
Under PaxGar, this draft would’ve transpired as follows: Haliburton (who I really do like), & the selling off of #44, so that Garf could buy his douchebag kids a water slide or some sh*t
He's taller than that.

Eh, he actually looks shorter, like 6’9. He’s 6’10 at best. Listed at 6’11 in shoes. He’s got a solid year of physical growth left, so maybe he’ll sprout up a bit more, but he definitely is not taller than 6’10 right now.

Hell no , I watched him next to Kuzmic from Crvena Zvezda weeks ago and Kuzmic is legit 7 footer, they were pretty much the same height, also his teammate Petrusev at Mega Club is 6"11 and Simonovic is obviously taller than him.

Re: Bulls draft Marko Simonovic at #44
I was honestly hoping for a trade up to take one of the falling PG’s with this pick. Then, I was salivating when Riller, Winston, Mannion, and Dotson were on the board at 44. When we passed for a stash guy, I was disappointed.
But, we wound up signing Dotson anyway and came out of it with a guy that at least has rotation possibilities in Simonovic as well. The shooting is what stands out and it’ll be fun to track him for a year before he comes over to replace Kornet.

I assumed the 2nd rounder was a throw-away guy given roster spots. Good move to go high ceiling guy who will be stashed. Could luck out.

Don't like that every time he catches the ball he brings it down almost below his waist before shooting but maybe that can be fixed/sped up because his shooting form actually looks nice. Seems like an OK athlete at least too

More in depth scouting report with lots of video:
"2020 NBA Draft scouting report: Marko Simonovic - Peachtree Hoops" https://www.peachtreehoops.com/platform/amp/2020/7/7/21291619/marko-simonovic-2020-nba-draft-scouting-report-video-offense-defense-atlanta-hawks-mega-bemax
It's a 2nd round pick, so if he's a rotational player, that's already a win. Even though there were guys still on the board that I liked (Riller and Reed come to mind), I like what I read and watched on him.

Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Re: Bulls draft Marko Simonovic at #44
When asked if Simonovic would make the roster AK didn’t really answer the question. All he said was that this year he wouldn’t but didn’t mention anything else which means he doesn’t know. I’m guessing most likely he doesn’t come over unless he really kills it this season where he’s playing.

He's tall and had pretty good stats including rebounds. Perfect that he's not coming right away they don't have to build him up as the next Kukoc or Mirotic nor do they have to force him onto the roster and find that he will look like the next Kornell David or Dragan Tarlac

As a second rounder, I’m just glad they picked A player. A guy they can stash and bring over later is never a bad idea IMO.

Who knows...we’ve seen everything. Givony notes that he was going to supposedly pull out of the draft until he got a promise. I would think he has some legit interest in coming over under those circumstances.

Re: Bulls draft Marko Simonovic at #44
So I'm not understanding the draft and stash thing. Why would anyone do this? Why not use the pick on a player that's ready to play? Is it because we don't have any roster spot open?
Drafting somebody overseas with a chance that they don't even play a single game with the team seems like a waste and maybe even worse than just outright selling the pick for cash considerations (and using that money towards say, buying out Felicio).

Meh. Given the Bulls current state, I would have preferred to get a high-potential developmental guy to stash in the G-League. Someone like a Bol Bol. This guy seems like a Kornet at best, and I have my doubts about whether he ever even comes over. Might as well have sold the pick or traded for a future pick.....
Saving grace: FA pickup of Devon Dotson. In my mind, I'm flipping them to draft Dotson #44 and pick up Simonovic in FA. That feels a lot better.
