With that kind of shooting if he has any kind of game going towards the basket his upside is pretty high.

That’s all I ask.

Frank and RJ need to improve from 3 for this to not be clunky. But I would like to see it too.

I'm not convinced IQ (at least not yet) can play point in NBA so playing him with another guy who is in the same boat going on several years (Frank) is not the wave IMO. I also don't see Thibs doing that. I think they will try to get FVV or if not will go after a stopgap guy like Agustin.

EDIT - I see Tron had the same idea already!

Could we see a future lineup of:

Quickley
Frank
RJ
Topin
Mitch

I like the idea of have 3 guys who can handle the ball in a lineup together. If RJ and Frank can get their 3-ball to respectable, this should be fun to watch.

This kid is a freak shooter from a top program. How'd he fall or even be in doubt for 1st round? I realize he doesn't do everything at a high level but he's making 92% from the line and hitting like 130 of 140 practice 3s. That sticks out no?

No tournament probably did him no favors. A few big shots in big games will boost your stock like no other. Also he can't put it on the floor as well as other 3/D prospects. I'm fine with the way it shook out for us assuming we sign FVV.

He fell because he's kind of questionable inside the arc and proved to be not too much of a PG.

But I don't think it's a bad pick at the end of the 1st, if a bit of a reach.

I like his lack of hesitation in general from what i've seen. The release on his jumper is a little low, but he gets set so well and the release is quick enough that it shouldn't matter. Always in attack mode. I think this was a fine pick even if he was projected to go later. Nothing wrong with going for your guy like that. The 2023 detroit second they got could end up being in the double draft which i forgot about, so not bad either.

As far as the Bane disappointment goes, Bane is a year older than Quickley and only shot 78% from the FT line as well and he rarely even got to the line (1.8 attempts per game vs. Quickley's 5.2 attempts a game). If you check the projected NBA 3pt% stat based on 3pt% and FT% Quickley is at 38.9% and Bane is at 38.1%. Now some will point to the fact Bane is 6'5 and Quickley is 6'3, that's fair. But note: Bane has tiny T-Rex wingspan at 6'4(wingspan shorter than his height) while Quickley has a 6'10 wingspan. The average wingspan for an NBA SG is 6'8. One is below average reach and one above average. That levels the playing field. Conclusion, if you wanted Bane it's because you wanted the Knicks to draft a shooter and they got one so you should support him

Both this kid and Toppin seem like high character players. Neither is afraid to work hard. I'm liking these picks more and more.

Bold prediction is he has a Tyler Herro season.

Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason

I don't get it

why was he projected to be 2nd rounder/undrafted, maybe his size and non existent PG skills?

Everything on paper and film looks like a solid top 10 pick minus being an undersized scoring guard

In basic attributes it also seems like IQ is a fit with RJ.

Wouldn’t be surprised. For what it’s worth, I always liked him more than Maxey

Some of those floaters are crazy. I'm not following why he wasn't a higher prospect. 92%, making floaters from 10 feet away without forward motion lol.

Well we do this every year. But in this case it seems like this kid's base and floor are really high. He's not tall but 6-3 is tall enough for someone who plays D and can knock down shots.

Yeah maybe he has no court sense. But guys who can play D and make shots don't need a ton, especially if RJ has the ball.
