I though Deni might go 1 or 2, where did he get drafted?

Very curious if the Heat have any kind of development program put together with all this uncertainty on the COVID regulations

He's a defensive/rebounding upgrade from day 1.

The issue is - It's hard to tell where is 3 point is at right now.

He's not ready to create off the dribble (that might come later) so to me the outside shot will dictate if he can play next to Bam and not just behind him.

I can't find the video but I've seen knock down 3's in a pre-draft workout like it was layups. Question is if the shot is solid enough to hold up in real games.

I watched that to the finish. That's a good looking jumper. We got lucky that he fell. Really fluid athlete. I totally get the Kawhi out of college vibe. Not saying he's Kawhi, just the feel is similar.

Looking back and really thinking about how I felt a few years ago, does anyone see Precious as a better pure prospect than Bam was?

I think Precious being relatively new to the game gives a lot more credit to how incredible he looks. He doesn’t show hesitation to shoot (even when missing) and seems a little quicker even.

Obviously Bam is much much better now but to see how well Bam developed HAS to make us even happier with the potential of Precious.

I remember his senior year of HS in the national tournament, Precious put on a show and absolute abused Vernon Jr.

Can’t wait to see the limit on his potential. Absolute worst case is Wizards Thomas Bryant (who actually looks better in the NBA than he did in college)

I was a fan of Bam in HS. Had him as a top ten prospect in that draft, then he got lost a bit at Kentucky.

I'd reckon to say that they're the same level of prospect. In HS and in college. I've got a real good feeling about PA post draft. Before, I was looking for best fit, which PA currently is not. However, the Heat liked him, worked him out, and got lucky he fell to the 20th pick. Just look at the offensive foundation you've got to work with already. He's not rocking a broken jumper. He's not pan handed. Now add in the defense, and you've got something elite to work with.

The anchor of arguably the top defensive team in college basketball, Achiuwa’s ability to switch onto guards, protect the rim, and finish possessions on the glass shined this season. Becoming a more disciplined defender in his only season at the college level, his potential as a stopper in the NBA is apparent.

With all the tools to be an elite defender, Achiuwa made some strides this season as the anchor of arguably the most athletic defense in college basketball. Possessing the quickness to slide with guards, the explosiveness to block shots emphatically, and the strength to play some center, his versatility is intriguing but his consistency stood out this season as Memphis’s defense kept them competitive in all but one game all year.

Rebounding the ball and using his physicality more aggressively on the defensive end as the year went on, Achiuwa figured some things out in his single collegiate season. Allowing just 0.61 points per one-on-one possession [76th percentile], he is already a very capable individual defender, but there is plenty of room for optimism about his continued development as a stopper.

"He might be the best I’ve ever coached. And I had [NBA first-round picks Jay Williams, Tyler Ennis and Andrew Bynum]. … His tools are different. He’s 6 foot-9, his hands are big, he’s athletic, touches almost the top of the backboard. He blocks shots, he runs the floor, he dunks, he can shoot the three. He just has so many different things he can do that he can dominate in different areas of the game, which is rare.”

I think the success Bam and Siakam have had makes us look at guys like Precious and Onyeka differently. The term tweener pretty much is none existent now because most 6-7 to 6'9 bigs if they're athletic and able to move their feet on defense their stock will rise the more success Bam and Siakam have during their careers.

Were you on the edge of your seat last night as the draft wound down and Reed was still there? :D I was hoping for some undrafted miracle to happen on a few guys before I fell asleep. Woke up to see everyone had gone in the last five picks or so.
