Also his A/T is around 2.

If needed I would give him $3 million per year portion of the MLE to be Siakam's backup. I think he could play small ball C better than Boucher.

He just took his player option

Oh geez. Avoiding moving costs? :nonono:

He's 29. Maybe he thinks next summer will have more money and he can get the money then? They just got Horford so he may not get an uptick in PT.

Newsday has learned Knicks are waiving Elfrid Payton and Kenny Wooten and not picking up option on Bobby Portis. Also, no qualifying offer for Damyean Dotson, who is an unrestricted FA now. More decisions to come...

I'm guessing Payton's partial guarantee date was delayed to today. $1 million guaranteed. He should only get min.

Portis is def worth more than the MIn. I would love him on the Min though.

I think Dallas makes a lot of sense too

I’m a bit unsure of Portis. Idk if he really fits the raptors culture. Wouldn’t mind giving him a shot if masai thinks he’ll fit in ok

I wonder if we could try to get Gorgui Dieng from Memphis. With them drafting Tillman and having JV they might be willing to deal him. He’d be a solid pickup

If the Knicks want to max out FVV, they can have him. Throw Flynn into the fire on Day 1 and see what he is made of.

Raps sound pretty confident they’re keeping Fred. They’re not dumb enough to match a near max for Fred right? He’s ok, but he’s one of the worst guards in the league at finishing at the rim. Let him walk and trade norm for a big.

Don’t think we let go of both norm and FVV. If Fred leaves norm stays. Otherwise we’d basically have just Malachi and Matt (Maybe TD) as the 2 guards and backup point

I rather keep Norm and start him at the 2 guard than sign Fred for anything more than $20M. I have seen enough of the FVV and Lowry starting back court to be honest.

Same but I just don’t wanna lose Fred for nothing. I’d want a sign and trade if we are gonna lose him

The Klay news absolutely sucks. I was looking forward to his return.

If I'm GS, I'd be looking hard at Norm Powell as a possible alternative, who can be nabbed at a reasonable price with their trade exception. He's nowhere near Klay's level, but may be just enough for a team looking to be a title contender.

How does it make sense from our end? Why trade Norman Powell? What are we gaining exactly?

He's going to be one of our main players going into next season

I have some interest in Dotson. Tough, long-armed defender who can hit an open three.

I honestly dont understand everyone's infatuation at Throwing away Norman Powell.

Only way I trade him is if it's part of a bigger package which involves us getting an Upgrade back. Or else it makes no sense

That's why the smart thing to do is usually the opposite of anything the Knicks do.

Interesting.

Toronto trades: Powell and cash
GS trades: Eric Paschall and Kevon Looney

GS is already in the tax so maybe not wanting to take on more salary.

Maybe TD and Dewan for Paschall?

Leon Rose actually sounds like a competent GM. I'd be surprised if they really maxed out FVV. It's a definite overpayment
