We finally draft a real point guard in the past 12 years. This is the best draft for guard that we’ve made in the past decade. The man handles the ball like Harden does and shoots it lights out. He’s gonna do very well with us. I wish he has Drummond as his center but we missed that boat. All these moves signal that we’re keeping Wood btw. No reason not to resign him with all that cap space. In my opinion, it’s Blake that I’m wondering why he’s still here. Yet again Westbrook and harden are still on Houston. So be prepared for a big trade coming up. I can see us abusing our cap space. Weaver got really creative using our cap space and getting 2 FRPs. It’s quite impressive actually. He didn’t give up anything of value to get them (Kennard). I’m not really afraid of losing Kennard. I feel like his game style is easy to get in the NBA specially when he was about to get paid. It’s pretty simple. Our GM is going all out tanking for the next 3 years.

I'm really hoping that Hayes and Sekou can grow together on this team.

I hope Hayes is a good influence on Sekou, who needs it. If it works the other way, Sekou needs to be shipped ASAP

I wanted Avdija, but he's a solid pick. Hopefully he'll shock me.

He will. I'm a Wizards fan, and I would trade Avidja for Hayes 10/10. Hayes is like Harden Jr if he reaches his potential.

27% from 3 is very misleading and i have a hard time judging a players percentages from when he was 16 and 17 playing pro ball.

wtf 37 of 40 saying awesome?
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

It’s also 117 attempts.

That’s a decent sample size, but not a lot of in game reps.

Still might be a decent shooter. He won’t be Steve Nash but if he was going to be that kind of shooter he’d have been consensus 1 by a mile.

I was hoping if the Pistons stayed at #7 that they would draft Killian and not reach for Halliburton. Very very good pick.

Was just listening to some of Weaver's draft-night presser. His comp for Hayes is, 'a bigger version of Goran Dragic.'

If that comes to be, I'll be ecstatic. (and will forgive him for passing on Haliburton ; ) )

So he thinks he's a 3 point shooter in the NBA.

Interesting.

I think he was referring more to how he moves, sees the floor, distributes, his craftiness in the lane, and the fact that he's a lefty.

Shooting 3's isn't the primary thing that enters my mind with Dragic. Though I know he can shoot and get hot from 3.

I dont see why not, hes a excellent FT and mid range shooter and his shot dont look bad. I mean I get the percentages so far but we can use the eye test to tell hes not out there with a MKG jump shot.

Goran Dragic was always my comp as well for him so kinda cool to hear Weaver say that.

Also if you look at it he shot 39% from 3 l in the EuroCup (10 games)

He shot 32% from 3 in the German Cup (3 games)

But shot 22% in the G-BBL (20 games)

Not like dragic is a crazy good shooter low volume for most of his career with up and down percentages.
I think he can improve like Reggie Jackson did as a shooter. Great in the mid range average/above average from 3.

Yeah, that’s definitely true. He’s a viable shooter from outside, occasionally elite but not consistent.

I was slightly surprised to see how inconsistent he’s been from there.

Still always been an overall fan of Dragic’s offensive game though.
