because due to the pandemic... and upcoming CBA deal... theres real talk in bringing it back... a lot of teams are in the red and while a vaccine is close not all teams will allow fans in the arenas... some teams need relief with some contracts... so teams like the Warriors will push for it.. the klay situation makes it real convo to use it

His salary is irrelevant..his contract has already been signed there's nothing that can be done to adjust it regardless of how he plays when he is back.

If he makes a full recovery he'll be 31 for the start of 21-22 season.

he will not be ready for the start of the 22 season... so correction he will be 32 years old... i wouldnt put it past the Warriors that they shut him down for the 21-22 season as well too...

Barring a significant setback I doubt that happens. That would be 3 seasons away from the game.

I don't know what you mean by "real talk" -- talking heads don't qualify, as far as I'm concerned. As far as the "upcoming deal" that's in place, and the current CBA runs through the 2023-24 season. Amnesty is a non-issue.

We basically don't have any tradeable assets right now; maybe just Curry, Paschall, Wiseman, and our 2021 draft picks and beyond.

Looking past this and looking forward to the 2021 draft class. Get better, Klay!

I wouldn't mind offering Sacramento our 2021 pick, maybe like top 7 protected, plus second rounders or something, for Haliburton. Yes, I know people are treasuring our 2021 pick now, but if they want to win now, they need help now. Haliburton would help plug a lot of holes, including shooting, playmaking, perimeter defense, and backup/rotation PG, and IMO is NBA-ready. This cat has high BBIQ, he's going to figure it out quickly, and has decent size, listed at 6-5. I think Sacto wisely picked Haliburton because he was clearly the best player available, but they don't really need him with Fox, Bogdanovich, Hield, and Joseph.

Ask yourself this: what are the chances the Warriors end up with a better player than Haliburton from that draft (again, assuming some protections from top-whatever)? I say not that great. If it's even close to 50-50, I'd rather get that player now, have them to develop alongside Wiseman while still giving us a shot to do something in the playoffs this year. And they'd still have Minnesota's pick next year.

Alternatively, is there a deal for Bogdanovich, since we already know they were ready to move him? Or Hield? Hield's a little smaller than I'd like, but he can light it up and knock down 3s.

What about using TPE for Fournier?

So sorry about Klay he doesn’t deserve it. Hope he heals up but we’ve seen how these normally go.

I have been advocating for him, can shoot, pass, handle the ball at 6-7 and play 1-3. He’s a great outside shooter. I think we need another scorer to alleviate Steph and Andrew.

The TPE is certainly an asset with many owners trying to shed salary right now. What kind of draftpick they choose to attach to that TPE is a different conversation though.

He just disappears in playoffs games.

Magic are over luxury tax line if they use MLE, BAE by about 12m too, so they can drop under luxury tax and sign new long contracts as Fournier likely leaves next season.

So they may be motivated to move him.

But he is also getting a top seeds best perimeter defender on him, with us he would get the worst of the other teams three perimeter defenders. Same reason they thought Wiggins efficiency would improve here.

After having a few drinks....

Wiggins, Looney, and Poole to Houston for Westbrook.

Trade for Oubre with the TPE.

Curry/Westbrook/Oubre/Draymond/Wiseman

Would be entertaining as hell lol...And at this point, I’m not asking for basketball glory. I just want to be entertained.

I don't think it is realistic to find a one-for-one replacement for Klay; it will take a committee to replicate different parts of his game. Alec Burks and GRIII did a nice job during their stint with us - would either/both be vet minimum options to bring back? Burks provides some much needed shooting and GRIII was willing to work on defense while also shooting 40% on 3's for us.

You could tell from Bob Myers' look last night that they were 95% sure. We may not see Klay Thompson on a basketball court until possibly around Christmas 2021, if not longer. Just terrible.

Throw the DPE at Joe Harris and try to sell him on the perfect role for him. I doubt he leaves Brooklyn but he is the best option out there. The other would be to throw the DPE at Gallo and pray he takes it and then put Wiggins at SG. Feel so bad for Klay, but I know in my heart he is going to make it back. I think the Dubs should also sign Josh Jackson and take a flyer on his potential.

This team isn’t going to be a threat with Bradley or Wes Matthews and in no way should they trade for Beal. He won’t move the needle as far as a championship window and his cost would effectively close any chance of contending in the near future. He would make the Dubs a treadmill team.

He doesn't blow but he's not amazing. That's why you can get him for TPE alone. Plus he's expiring.
