We're signing something called Dakota Mathias to a two-way contract. I'm a little surprised/confused by this since we already have Shayock on a two-way and you'd think the second spot is ticketed for Reed.

But maybe Shayock goes or Reed is signed to the roster but we already have to clear some of the driftwood off the roster to open spots and the idea of paying more picks to get off guys is less than thrilling.

If another team gets close to a Harden trade, does Daryl get a call and decided to pull the trigger? Or has that ship sailed, and is he definitely going to wait and see?

Still not moving Ben.

No way they would be insane

Would love to see Ersan at the minimum if thats somehow possible. He is definitely better then Mike Scott. Bigger, comparable shooter (marginally worse), better rebounder, and defender. You can actually play him at center for a few minutes without getting totally crushed unlike Scott.

Rivers son and a Morey guy, brace yourself.

He’d be an okay bench player imo

Who is gonna give Hayward that kinda coin? Does it suck that bad to be in Boston?

C - Embiid
F - Harris / Reed / Scott
F - Thybulle / Korkmaz / Ferguson
G - Green / Curry / Joe / Smith
G - Simmons / Milton / Maxey

Is that how our roster looks right now? Too many guards, no?
My guess we are trading Scott and Smith in the next couple of days.

Curry starting instead of Thybulle. Green's shot disappears, and Thybulle isn't high volume.

That's great, but we still don't have a player who can get his own shot. Or can hit a shot in the guts of the game. When we need a shot with 5 seconds left or in a tight game for the last 5 seconds, are we going to Tyrese Maxey?

This is still a first/2nd round team until we get a legit veteran 20+ ppg 3 tier scorer.

Yep, people should understand this by now.

Biid and Simmons + 3 n D guys is a good fit and exciting team, but lacks firepower. Best case scenario is a 2nd round team.

No...I think he has it. Bench rotations TBD, but those are the starters I envision. Maybe Curry and Green flip flop.

I'm going to guess they are going to offset Curry and Shake with Green and Thybulle to mix shooting with defense. I think Maxey will spell Simmons mostly.

One thing to keep in mind, is the idea of the NBA allowing for 2-way players to have more eligible time on the big club this season due to COVID. The other thing to keep in mind, which I don't know if its been discussed or seen anywhere, but the potential to add an extra roster spot or two just for this season, even if they are more 2-way deals.

Baseball did this to combat the potential COVID roster issues that could come up throughout the season as well as the need for more bodies as to not overwork guys too quickly in a fast restart that also has a condensed and crammed schedule.

Just something to keep in mind as we work on roster construction.

Maxey being good enough for regular minutes would be huge. I’m not anticipating much from him in year 1, but do love his potential.

I expect Morey to cycle through 2-ways like Hinkie did 10 days.

Where's the glaring hole at the moment? Backup center. And you know we'll need one that not only can give you 18-20 solid minutes off the bench but can reliably start the 20 or so games that Biid will either be hurt or load managing. Usually back up center isn't a big deal but I think the role carries extra importance for us.

Which makes it a little surprising that they let Pelle go as the 3rd big, because you're going to need that 3rd big for games that Embiid doesnt play. Guessing they bring a couple of vet bigs with experience or one with versatility to play the 4 and 5.

Can always sign him again if there's a spot. That option was only there so he could be a filler in a trade if needed.
