Williams probably needs to lose some of that weight in his quads. Looks too big there.
If Williams is going to hit on his upside, he's going to need to be capable of playing the 3. He can be a potential mismatch as a 3 if he can add the requisite ball skills/shooting. As a pure 4, he feels like more of a role-player to me.

Then go watch PatWill
I feel like this video supports pat more. Pat seems the quicker more powerful leaper and much bigger at that age. Plus he isnt playing against high school level competition.
Seriously, absolutely nothing about this tape suggests Millsap is a superior athlete. I would say PWill is a better athlete from watching this tape. " Watch him blow by people and rise" uhhh, where? I watched the entire tape and all of his shots come from catching in the paint. And he got blocked a bunch of times in the video.

I didn't want Deni. Hopefully Patrick Williams is what the doctor ordered.

It's hard to be wrong in all fronts but you somehow managed to do so
No, Brown and Pat aren't similar at all, and no, the biggest difference isn't age, it's their games and tools, Brown failed in a poorly space Cal team cause of his struggles on the halfcourt and shooting the ball, Pat has a promising shooting profile and makes good decisions already
No, Brown wasn't ranked high among draft nerds because his season was terrible, but he was highly regarded from RSCI, way more than Williams, and remained high in some evaluators eyes, DX had him still top5 at Draft time
Brown is a world class athlete, who has a fine jumper now, plays hard and is a consumate worker but still lacks feel on both ends
Nothing about Jaylen Brown is similar to Patrick Williams' case, not his trajectory, nor his game

I like his handle in the video too and we don't know how much he has improved since the lockdown, which could be a lot since ak said he didn't see him as the raw prospect many others reported him as being. As far as his upper legs, that can negatively affect his lateral quickness. If his upper and lower legs were more proportional, that would fix that problem. The upper legs being so large could also cause injury problems in the future.
Please explain.
The upper legs being out of proportion can put extra stress on the calves which can cause unnecessary injury risk with his athletic style of play. The upper legs being so large also makes the lower legs work harder when trying to move laterally which slows you down.

Re: The Chicago Bulls select forward Patrick Williams #4 overall.
When I heard they picked Williams, my first thought was that it sure as hell wasn't designed to be a fan pleaser. From what I've read in this thread, I was right...most fans are kinda underwhelmed. My first reaction was that it sucks having the 4th player in a 3-player draft, but then I heard AK say that he never really pursued moving up and loved Williams at 4. OK, AK is all in on Williams. If Paxson had made this pick, I have to believe that the fan reaction would have been even more negative.
Let's face it, AK gets his "honeymoon" period. He will get criticized by some, but most fans are giving him the benefit of the doubt. Obviously, how Williams develops will become a touchstone of how we judge him, but he's going to make a lot of other moves to build his team. I confess that the Williams pick has me scratching my head a bit, but for the next year or so, I'm going to stay with the "In Arturas I trust" mode. I'm not expecting perfection, but I do expect to see a plan coming together.

I mean, he does have some big quads but he also wears those little skimpy shorts that show them off and make them more noticeable than other players' lol. LeBron's quads are just as big, if not bigger. What evidence do we have that muscular quads have a negative effect on agility?

Yes on quads.
No on disadvantage at PF. He will be able to defend both. Against 3s he will be like Jimmy against 2s. Bully ball and shooting over them. Against 4s he stretches the floor and drives around them.

Oddly enough, if paxson had made the pick, i don't doubt it would have been deni or haliburton and we might have a more happy thread than we do. I understand going with the safe pick, but i'm not against drafting for potential even if it means picking someone who would have been drafted 4 or 5 picks later. Drafting a player near where they were going to be drafted is important for value's sake, but so is getting the guy you want.

In fact, your quadriceps, or quads, play a vital role in nearly all of your leg movements, so it’s important to keep them strong and flexible. Having weak quads not only can diminish your knee’s function, but research shows it also may put you at risk for knee cartilage loss, the hallmark trait of knee osteoarthritis.
“The quadriceps are the primary muscles that help support the knees. If you have weakness in your quads, that can lead to a degree of instability in your knees,” says physical therapist Tim Bungo, PT, SCS.

When it comes to speed, ever heard of a guy whose upper body is too big when compared to his lower body. Your lower body has to carry everything else and if your body is out of proportion you can't maximize your athletic ability. Also, extra stress on the lower body in a sport with as much jumping as basketball on a surface with very little give is a bad combination.

Wish I knew this before I drafted Saquon Barkley on my fantasy football team.
So is this like a proven science thing? Just curious how you know this.

Very little give on a NBA court? They're specifically designed to provide give. If I'm not mistaken they even have cushioning built in underneath.

It's still hardwood, it's not like playing football on grass which has much more give and there still are plenty of leg injuries there.

A whole day later, some time to reflect on the draft from a distance & digest it objectively, and....I am even MORE HYPED than I was last night!
We got arguably the highest upside player in this draft. I fully believe that AKEVS nailed the draft better than anyone besides Minn (who definitely deserve the credit their new management is garnering; Ant & Poku IN THE SAME DRAFT? What a resoundingly brilliant night they had. Holy sh*t: DAR/Ant/Culver/Poku/KAT has astronomical upside!)
I truly believe we got the BPAs available at those slots, and I’m starting to think the Dotson pickup was a stroke of genius
I honestly have no clue whatsoever where AKEVS will go from here, but there hasn’t been a more exciting time to be a Bulls fan since Mike came back the first time. Anything seems possible under these guys. We got two of the highest upside selections in the draft at their respective slots, a potential mega-sleeper undrafted PG, the reigning COTY & the lion’s share of his staff, a state of the art developmental programme, a totally rebuilt medical staff, and all of this has been executed & carried out by two professional individuals who live & breathe success in the NBA, and are hell bent on bringing the greatest sports franchise of all time back to the summit (for good)
And mind you, a this time last year, this franchise had the WORST FO & coaching staff IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE. Two worthless sh*tbags who couldn’t even get someone like Billy Donovan to meet them at Starbucks, let alone sign on to work under them, and a “coach” who isn’t even qualified to instruct a senior citizen’s aquacise class
AK said he was in tears while watching the last dance...this guy wants it just as badly as we do!

Mind blown.
