Just for the sake of comparisons Bey is a lights out 3 pointer shooter. He reminds me of a Klay Thompson in that regard. KLAY had the benefit of playing alongside Curry. Klay Is an outstanding three-point shooter effiecent who moves very well without the ball. Bey seems to be cut from the same cloth. I also see Kawhi Leonard in Bey. That is the potential for a Leonard type player. Currently he tries to do too much off the dribble. For the 19th pick in the draft outstanding pick. My only concern is can Casey coach him up to his full potential. I hope they utilize him to his full potential and use his as a big shooting guard

ElectricMayhem wrote:...And here's a pre-draft article from 538 gushing over how Bey, Vassell, and Nesmith are perfect fits in the modern NBA:

[Bey's] a rangy, strong, 6-foot-8 forward (with a 6-foot-11 wingspan) who drained a staggering 45.1 percent — fourth-best in the NCAA and first in the Big East — of the 5.6 threes he launched per game last season. (According to KenPom, Bey also finished 85th overall in effective field-goal percentage (58.5) and first in offensive rating in the Big East (119.0) among all players whose usage rate was at least 20 percent.)

Bey can function in any offensive or defensive system, rebound, move the ball and, if all goes well, eventually make decisions with it in his hands. On offense, Villanova coach Jay Wright believes Bey can even play some point guard, while his defense could be even more versatile. Last season, Bey was an across-the-board stopper, according to Wildcat assistant coach Kyle Neptune: “If it was the point guard, Saddiq would guard him. If it was a two or three man, Saddiq would guard them. If the best player was a four man, Saddiq would guard him, too.”

What are his weaknesses and why didn't he go higher in this draft?

It's interesting that many commented that they don't seem Bey as having a high ceiling. Just for fun let's imagine Kawhi Leonard Jimmy Butler and Bey were all coming out of college at the same time who would you have said had the highest ceiling. Personally I would pick Bey. To me he seems to be cut from the same cloth and I won't limit him in my mind as to what he can become .

My favorite pick of the night. I'm so intrigued by Bey. I think Sekou is more of a SF/PF hybrid, and Bey is a SF/SG player, will be interested in how they play together. His shooting is top notch though. AMAZING pick!!

Luke had his positives but couldn't stay healthy. This kid has positives too, and fits the timeline. A solid roll of the dice.

I got the feeling last year that not all was well between the Pistons and Kennard with how they'd always say he was close to coming back and he'd never come back. Like he went to outside doctors to deal with his knee issue because he felt team docs were giving him bad info and these new docs kept him out longer and Luke was on his own return schedule and wasn't rushing back.
