Its a good feeling. It sure brightened up my day no lie. I should him the plate on the front of my car, and the lanyard hanging from my mirror. It was a good time. Its nice to be a hornets fan right now.

The Mens US Soccer Team is probably the most promising that it ever has been. What an absolutely insane group of young talent to build around with Tyler Adams, Weston Mckennie, Yunus Musah, Christian Pulisic, Giovanni Reyna, Sergino Dest, and even Sebastian Soto all looking great. I mean several of those players project to be world class or are actively already world class in the case of Pulisic and Dest.

What a little champ!! Glad it all worked out BoB.

Just think, the after that experience your next 4 pregnancies will be a breeze - because I assume you’re putting the starting 5 together for the 2038 WNBA season, right?

And I hype you named your daughter PeeJay or Jalenne or Codette?

We've said no more than 3, but if we have all girls we may have to reconsider!

Sorry to say her name is Thia, though, short for Luthian. Funny thing, we first started talking about kids a couple years ago, and another name my wife really loved was Shai.

(I'm pretty sure I shared this on the board before) She was unaware of the draft prospect by that name and did a double take when we drafted him. Felt like destiny.... for a couple minutes.

Dude Tottenham might be the real deal. The defending on display against Man City was nothing short of elite. Dier of all players is seemingly the one bringing the unit together and they just seemed so calm and composed even when Man City had 3 men running in. They frequently held a higher line to negate the ability of Man City to penetrate- and they also moved almost entirely as a unit keeping in line together to force Man City into Offsides traps. Everyone was out there tackling and fighting as well, some absolutely brilliant tackles out there today.

The US will have a player on top teams in several top leagues next season..

Pulisic at Chelsea
Adams at Leipzig
Weston at Juventus
Reyna at Dortmund
Richards at Munich
Musah at Valencia
Dest at Barcelona
Aaronson at Salzberg
Brooks at Wolfsburg
Robinson at Fulham
Weah at Lille

A few other pretty good MLS prospects too that could move. And a few B team players in Europe like Ledezma and Konrad.

The thing is, most of them are injury prone. Pulisic, Adams, Brooks, Weah etc.

How do you Yanks approach the Friday after Thanksgiving?

Do most of you just take the Friday off as a vacation day and turn it into a 4 day extravaganza?

Seems so weird to have a holiday on a Thursday. I feel like it would torpedo my week.

Yes

Duh

**** Canuck

How else am I gonna sleep off the 48lb of delicious turkey, mac and cheese, stuffing, mashed taters, green beans, corn, pecan pie with vanilla ice cream and half a bottle of whiskey?

My Thanksgiving vacay this year is 21 Nov - 30 Nov

I noticed he was tweeting Hornets stuff again on draft day, and I think he broke the Bacon-non-QO news. Great that he's back!

Wow prayers for Keonte Johnson. He is a guy I was interested in us drafting this year in the 2nd round. I had him ranked high as a 2nd rounder. He collapsed on the court while coming out after a time out. These are his stats and this is a video of his talents. He is the one that I said was built like a LINE BACKER.

1990 Michael Jordan Time Travels to 2020 and Joins the Hornets: How Do the Next 6 Years Go?

Post#1633 » by pmanzano » Wed Dec 16, 2020 12:29 am

Saw this on FB and Halftime, and thought it was a fun thought experiment:

Comparing players across generations or having “GOAT” arguments is pedestrian and uninteresting most of the time. The reality is, LeBron and Kobe never exist without guys like Jordan and Bird and Magic laying the groundwork for them. The stuff the legends did on the court is a big part of what current players do.

For this exercise, let’s take vintage Michael Jordan in his prime, let’s say from 1990 — right when he started winning championships at age 27. This man gets stolen by time travelers and brought to 2020. In order to get him caught up with today’s NBA, he is given 3 months to study, watch film, learn the modern style and players, train with modern coaches, etc.

He lands on the current Hornets roster and will be playing with our current lineup.

What would then happen over the next 6 years? How would things go for him and the team?

Roosters and Capital Grille are solid choices. Not a fan of Fahrenheit.

Yay.

I couldn’t stand the bumbling fool that was Steve Martin so I was stoked when he left and was always going to be thrilled with whoever he he was replaced with.

It helps that I like Collins, his accuracy and his apparent love for the team.
