Do you think he’s a starting caliber guard on a championship team? Do you feel he’s top 20 at that position?

I expect him to average 16p, 4r, 3a in 28 mins next year with 50%fg and 35% 3p with close to elite defense. So yes I think he will be a starting SG.

Lofty expectations!

I mean it's almost his per 36 from last season.

He said in 28 minutes! He’s most improved if he puts those numbers up and makes that jump I’m hoping for it if he’s here to stay but i don’t think that’s realistic

Lofty expectations!

His biggest weaknesses were 3 point shooting and finishing at the rim last year. Those are relatively easy attributes to improve on.

Some here were saying DJ is good after one or two good games and we signed again, the same with Plumlee, the same with Thon, Sterling, Snell and i can name many more..

I m not saying that Donte is not better than them but right now he is nothing more than an average back up player, i cant trust you or anyone and sorry for that for what he can become, i want something better than him or else we just pray, do you want that?

Remember the Bledsoe conversation we had few years back? :D

I guess my opinion on that would be that Donte was good for a full season compared to someone like DJ being good for a week. Call him an average backup, thats fine, but stats rate him out as a pretty damn good backup right now after only his second season. Do I think he's the insane role player right now that those stats or other people make him out to be? Not really but I think he was, like you said, at worst an average backup player which after his second season shows a lot of promise to me. Bogdanovic a year older, coming off an awesome Euroleague career, was nothing more than that (an average backup player) when he came over. People **** on "average backup" stats from young guys because they aren't Kobe Bryant or something, but I think most guys in the league who become just about anything more than "average backups" were probably at this same level Donte is at this early in their careers and guys who fizzle out or become only career backups usually don't even see the success that Donte has already had.

Or, you know, the guy they're trading wants out of town and the market is probably limited.

You think the 12th pick of the draft is worth that much more than Bogdan, even though the Kings are no longer eating a $7 million contract?

DDV was close to starter level last year as a 22/23 year old, that is his floor - not an average back up player. None of those guys were anywhere near as good as him at the same age.

Strengths: 6'5 guard, fast, athletic, fairly strong, good ball handler, can get to the rim, fairly smart, good defender, tenacious.

Weaknesses: Inconsistent, sometimes irresponsible with the ball, inaccurate passing, below average jumpshot, not great at finishing.

Considering how young he is, I expect him to improve in all these areas (especially shooting and finishing).

Yes many were the same level Donte is and become very good and many did not, i want to go to war with Donte but not with him infront and hope for him to become Rambo, if you don't want to fight for a championship thats fine, Donte is good, if you want then you must bring something else cause all the other teams getting better and better.
