Horford has a year longer contract than Blake Griffin, and Griff of course is a Oklahoma native. That extra year would need pick sweetener and that's not what OKC seems to be about - they're still Lottery Pick collectors themselves.

Horford makes 8.5M less a season though, so over two years Detroit would end up a head 17M, but the extra year of Horford means in the end Detroit takes on 13M extra salary.

Horford's last year is only guaranteed for 14.5 million, so a total guarantee amount of 69 million. Blake has about 75.5 left guaranteed. Of course, getting off the money a year earlier is a plus as well, instead of eating 14.5 for nothing...

HW dropped it in another thread came from Lowe and Marks I think without much more info than there was some discussion. I’m really not sure what it would’ve looked like. Blake is frankly too good for us to take back, even with the native angle.

Todays Lowe post. Bobby Marks says Detroit tried to take Horford for incentive. That isn't like a blake swap, but rather the salary eating roll, so maybe Snell goes back or such.

Uh Delon Wright did the whole remove the Mavs from instagram thing I'm told. Don't know if thats a regular thing for him or what not but I had him being traded as a lock this off-season so I'm definitely reading into it. :D

Were you guys able to stay over the cap and keep Gallo's rights? I thought one of the deals may have needed extra salary in order to do so.

Sixers to bring back Nerlens Noel per our board insider and Keith Pompey of the Inquirer.

Likely for a portion of the tax MLE. Takes over the backup big spot from Al Horford.

That’s a great pick up. Noel is still an elite shot blocker and underrated generally.

Reporting has been that they were holding off on finalizing for OKC to operate over the cap but nothing conclusive. There will need to be about 2.5m added per Smitty for it to work.

So OKC moved Paul and Nader for an expiring James Johnson, Ty Jerome, Lecque, and two 1sts while saving a lot of immediate cap. I have to eat crow. I definitely didn't see Paul getting so much in return though it is due in large part to Presti magic. Well done OKC.

via Zach Harper @ The Athletic
League sources say Evan Fournier is trying to find his way to a team like the Clippers, Suns or Nuggets.
via Hoops Rumors
Also in Windhorst’s latest Hoop Collective podcast, he and colleague Zach Lowe identified the Kings and Magic as two teams that may be looking to get a little younger this offseason rather than being content with competing again for the No. 8 seed. Nemanja Bjelica was identified by Lowe as a possible trade candidate to watch in Sacramento, while Windhorst added that Orlando would likely be open to moving Evan Fournier.

If true I just don't understand nerlens. Does he not want the opportunity to start and maybe play into a pay day? He keeps signing with teams with established centers that don't really do spread PnR very well

If Gallo walks right now OKC has about 10-12m in cap space. If they can do a SnT and stay over they have the Oubre TPE at about 14m. I can’t find an update on what other TPEs they still have and the deadlines though. SportTrac doesn’t seem to have it.

All I know is Dallas once traded nothing for him and I was really excited. And then he turned down $70M and it was the best thing that could have happened.

He is a walking series of self-sabotaging money decisions. Now super cool if he just doesn't let money be a primary motivator but he has given up so much money over his career.

They will stay over. And Presti will get something for Gallo. It's who he is now.

That’s what he was saying last night too. Then you got Mark Followill on the radio saying based on what he’s heard he’s expecting another significant change to the roster.

I think Gallo with his size makes the most sense. Why have we not heard about Aaron Gordon anymore? Is he not available? He’d really be a perfect fit in my opinion.

Either Bogdon or Hayward would be really fun to watch on this team. They will be tougher to obtain.

Haven’t heard anymore about Gobert either.

No idea what OKC books look like at this point, changing too fast.

http://www.basketballinsiders.com/oklahoma-city-thunder-team-salary/ has old TPE's:
Trade Exception (Jerami Grant, expiring 11/24/20) — $7,152,673
Trade Exception (Paul George, expiring 11/26/20) — $10,389,997
Trade Exception (Chris Paul, expiring 11/16/21) — $6,681,482
Trade Exception (Justin Patton, expiring 1/25/21) — $722,254

But if OKC would be 12m below the cap and have a 14m TPE, you can use the TPE to stay above the cap.

The line between being a taxpaying team and receiving a share of GS's largesse just became starker.
