Horford has a year longer contract than Blake Griffin, and Griff of course is a Oklahoma native. That extra year would need pick sweetener and that's not what OKC seems to be about - they're still Lottery Pick collectors themselves.
Horford makes 8.5M less a season though, so over two years Detroit would end up a head 17M, but the extra year of Horford means in the end Detroit takes on 13M extra salary.
Horford's last year is only guaranteed for 14.5 million, so a total guarantee amount of 69 million. Blake has about 75.5 left guaranteed. Of course, getting off the money a year earlier is a plus as well, instead of eating 14.5 for nothing...
HW dropped it in another thread came from Lowe and Marks I think without much more info than there was some discussion. I’m really not sure what it would’ve looked like. Blake is frankly too good for us to take back, even with the native angle.
Todays Lowe post. Bobby Marks says Detroit tried to take Horford for incentive. That isn't like a blake swap, but rather the salary eating roll, so maybe Snell goes back or such.
