About $15M under the tax to spend between Clarkson and the MLE. However we allocate. Another $6.5 to the apron. We probably have enough to sign Clarkson and use the full, but then we wouldn't get our luxury tax check from the league.

Ersan Ilyasova was just released. I've been wanting him on the Jazz for years. He's no longer the starter-type, but I'd still take him. 6'10 shooting PF. Yes, please. Then trade Bojan for someone who plays D and can rebound, and all of a sudden things are looking better.

Mem - Justice Winslow & a pick for Bojan
Tor - Ibaka & Anunoby for Bojan, Davis & 2nd round pick

... I don't know. Just throwing out B.S. on my lunch break. lol

Ooof...When I was a proponent of trading Favors, I did not factor in the FO's incompetency in landing a backup C. 3 second rounds and a first round pick spent on a backup C...uncertain if Udoka is even the answer.

Silver lining is that the Jazz likely have the space to use the Full MLE and Resign Clarkson. I think there were ~25 teams with the full MLE this year. Where do the Jazz fall on that list as an attractive destination?

Well the option for Bobby Portis was declined. I really hope we pursue him as our stretch big.

I mean, there's kind of a reason his contract wasn't picked up......

Because they just drafted another pf and he isn't worth 15mil. He is worth MLE though. We desperately need a big that can stretch the floor and also play a small ball 5. With the makeup of our team he is an excellent fit.

I watched a lot of Knick games (and I watched him in Chicago and Washington too), he just isn't very good...... He fits on paper, just not in real life......

I've watched him plenty. He is solid and exactly the big that we need.

We kind of have to sign a 4/5 in free agency. It’s looking very thin with backup bigs. Niang is the most established, and then there’s Morgan, Brantley, and Udoka behind him. Really no proven commodities.

I don’t think Portis is a very good player...but he fits the positional need and I know we had previous interest in him.

I think I’d rather split the MLE with Kaminsky/Ersan and a defender like Dunn/Harrison/Jones Jr.

Well, if we do happen to sign him (which isn't happening) I hope you're right......

I think Portis is realistic. We had interest in him before.

Is this silverlining though? Like... Tony Jones was right about Udoka before the draft(he had him projected to the Jazz)... and now I'm really worried that he truly has some great inside knowledge because in a podcast with Sam Vecenie he said he expects the Jazz to resign Clarkson and that he's our primary goal of the off-season... and he floated something around 15-20M a year? What if he's right? This would be such a disaster of an off-season... we are clearing space to be able to overpay Clarkson...

15-20 M a year :o I had no idea. I was thinking just above the MLE.

Vecenie was in disbelief... I was too... I don't know if this is an inside info or ... just his own guess..
