Trading Zhaire Scott and Korkmaz would give us around 12m to play with in any sign and trade would a 2/25 deal be enough? We could add the Ennnis TPE in to make it 2/29. I dunno

PG: Curry
SG: Simmons
SF: Harris
PF: Gallo
C: Embiid

That fixes our shooting issues. You basically have Simmons guarding the bigger/best guard. You could also swap in and out Thybulle when you need more size and defense and you'd still have Milton and Green off the bench.

Probably not possible. Doing a sign and trade would hard cap us at the apron and we’re close to if not already over that as we stand now.

Sounds like Atlanta is gonna give him a pretty big offer, also.

He has said he wants to play in the east and prioritize winning. He has the doc and Harris connection. I dunno it will be interesting to see if we are a consideration. The more obvious option is Dallas is because they have the players to make it work. For me though I still think we need a stretch 4 that was sort of the void left by Horford.

@Ferry Avenue

I'll admit that Russell Westbrook is the hardest working player in the league and arguably the most passionate.

However, where the heck are you getting the information that leads you to believe he's mature?

I'd argue he's incredibly immature. And almost all of his behavior and altercations would indicate that.

Gallo and Harris are both PF though. Defensively that would be problematic at best.
But I think Gallinari costs more than we can afford either way.

That lineup looks bad, to me.

A bunch of awkward out of position players. Several bad defenders on the floor at the same time. Nobody that can score off the dribble.

That's like a Princeton offense lineup. But like a 5th place finish in their own highschool division version.

other guys I'd kick the tires on for some combo of Ferguson, Zhaire and Scott:

Danuel House (maybe devalued after bubble shenanigans)
Khem Birch (3rd string in ORL coming off a down year)
Dante Exum (would like to see him in Rivers' system)

Wasn't there a Derrick White rumor a while back? Anything new on that?

I like Gallinari, but unless we're moving Harris, he's a terrible fit on this team. The lineup itself will probably look more like
Simmons
Curry or Shake
Green or Mattise
Harris
Embiid

That's how I see it playing out. We'll have to hide Curry or Shake on D while Simmons, Green, and Mattise will all be interchangeable. You put a guy like Gallinari (who can't guard a pot of boiling water) in that lineup and we're going to have a **** show on our hands once again.

Hope the plan is to eventually to get a ballhander who can knock down shots in the clutch, it'll be the one missing piece to us contending.

Didn't we have that with Trey Burke?

The key word there is clutch. Do you really want to have Trey Burke taking the last shot?

Not as my first or second option, but I thought he was a nice sparkplug for Dallas in the bubble. Had some nice games against the Clippers, a couple big shots in OT in Game 4 where he finished with 25 points. Not saying I want him to be our Lou Will from the Doug Collins era where we look to him every time with seconds left, but we could have used him this summer.

Sixers should go after DJ Augustin or Reggie Jackson with TMLE.. pnr point guard should still be the no.1 priority

Augustin would be a good fit. Satoransky via trade would also be nice.

Pretty sure that is how they envision Maxey. Dude is clutch.

Buddy Heild is so overrated on this board it's ridiculous. Buddy Heild makes 22 million per, and doesn't do anything on a basketball court significantly better than Seth Curry.

I disagree.

Simmons will be responsible for creating off the dibble but Harris can be the 2nd ballhandler. Curry, Gallo, and Harris are also good spot up shooters which would allow us to move Embiid closer to the basket and do what he wants inside.

Defensively it has some issues but it can be mitigated by mixing in Green and Thybulle when you need two big guards on the floor.

still in payne wrote:My wish/hypothesis on Morey giving props to Doc Rivers' recruiting skills: if Curry fits into the trade exemption from the Horford trade (some debate over that), use the Richardson TPE for Marcus Morris. We need frontcourt help, he's a scorer with range, can play 3 and 4, played for Doc in LA, and would love to come home to Philly. Also gives us some toughness, which is something we really need.

Horford minus (Green plus Ferguson) = 8.4M
Curry = 7.8M

Curry's salary fits into that TPE.

And therefore the DAL trade creates a brand new TPE for Josh Richardson's full salary, 10.8M.

Maybe that's why they overpaid, to get the TPE? Still curious as to how Morey valued that deal.

The Curry trade already went through, but the Green trade isn’t going to for a couple weeks it sounds like because OKC didn’t want to wait on the original laker trade and make it a 4 teamer. Not sure why.

I see the PHI-DAL trade (without 36?) on the transaction list. And I see the OKC-LAL trade. So when can players be re-aggregated? January 15th like usual? What is the mechanism for getting around that so Horford isn't here waiting for January 15th?

I'm conflicted on whether I want to add a decent veteran PG (Augustine/Teague type) vs just rolling with Curry/Shake/Maxey and seeing what we have there. Could always make a move later if it's not working.

I'm locked in on Nerlens.
