Outside shooting threat
Inside shooting threat
Lob threat
Blocking threat
Is long and can get up

Get him a personal trainer today, a nutritionist tomorrow, and a weight program to build up quickly and keep up the hops training. By Feb he might already be something stronger.

Make no bones about it, McDaniels is a project. But a special one at that. He'll test Rosas' player development approach.

I really hope the G-league plays this season, McDaniels is the ideal guy to spend most of the season in Iowa getting as many developmental minutes as possible.

Insanely frustrating at the college level, but has serious talent. Fortunately I think our development staff on our G-League is very good.

Gersson targeting a high potential guy that underwhelmed at the college level..I don't mind it.

Yep, I don't like taking those guys early but I have zero problems taking shots at them with mid-late 1st round picks and second-rounders.

As long as you give them shots at the roster along the way if they earn it.

Underwhelmed? You mean like Ball underwhelmed, or Edwards and his team underwhelmed when they had the greatest next prospects of mankind? That kind of underwhelmed?

He was a top 5 HS recruit that got benched midway through the season due to poor play and tantrums.

That kind of underwhelmed.

Seems to be something about UW that they manage to damage highly rated HS players once they get them on campus.

To be honest if I was a GM I would take signing to go there as a big red flag against a prospect

I was really excited when we picked him up, super high potential kind of kid despite the glaring kinks. I cant wait to see him (no summer league is a bummer). Hope he pans out and gets mid late season minutes with us. Need to develop in G league I get, but really hope they have plan to get him NBA minutes. Or he blows them away and makes it a must.

More so because he is pretty much the proto-type PF skillset we could use (Jerami Grant types). Highlights & game clips of him seems like like a a more super raw Jonathan Isaacs with more attacking skillset and attitude.

He reminds me of maybe a poor mans Durant. Durant was one of the meanest yet weakest kids coming in, fiery player, lanky, couldn't lift 185 even once at bench press at combine. Durant's college numbers are much better, but he still reminds me of him. This kid is even skinnier so he instantly needs to add 10-15 pounds. Which will only make him more confident.

The no summer league and questionable whether gleague can exist right now, I don't know what Wolves/league really are planning to do for these kids. Find them a gym to work with them at the least.

Yeah he was compared to poor man's durant from high school day, but not sure if it was for more then the lanky lenght then style itself. Tho he showcases some hesi'pull ups that are little similar, and general jumpshoot heavy offense. But generally seems to be compared with Isaacs and Ingram.

Nice clip and interview with him from 2 months ago:
