I don't follow Lasry on social and don't doubt that he's a trust fund bro, but I do know people who worked on DNC stuff gave him quite a bit of praise.

Different world, though, obviously. Bucks might be his toy.

Won't it be fun in 7 hours when Bogdanovic is a Buck and Giannis announces his intention to sign the supermax, and all this craziness is behind us?

Give me thousands of dollars to protect your trust fund no matter who wins and I'll say nice things about you too.

That could still happen and we can still be rightfully pissed about how this all went down. We can then recognize that the organization doesn't deserve Giannis but the fans sure do. Then we can recognize just how great of a starting five Jrue, Bogdan, Midds, Giannis, and Brook would be. From shooting to playmaking to toughness to defense to unselfishness. That lineup truly does have it all. Then we can hope to win a title or two in spite of a leaky ass front office.

What an absolute **** show of a situation. You'd think that SAC has no intention of retaining Bogdan so a deal with expirings and DDV would be pretty sweet. Had to have been Bogdan and his agent that caused this after getting a better offer.

Simmons doesn't have any inside info that these other guys don't. It's all just speculation at this point. We'll know for sure if this was a money issue if/when Bogdan inks a 4-yr $80 million offer sheet with the Hawks tonight. If not and he ends up signing for $60-70 million elsewhere, then it's fair to let loose on the front office for prematurely waiving Ersan if this deal still had any chance of getting done. If this was some under-the-table punishment from Silver, then the Bucks should pursue every legal action available to them and make a stand against this kind of blatant league corruption.

I think you're probably right unfortunately.

I dont think nba front offices operate with the emotional maturity of a 15 year old.

You would hope not. Again just my opinion. Heck I thought the timing was a little interesting that night because it was like an hour after the Holliday announcement that was met by an almost universal 'they gave up what?" response (media/nba twitter overvalues 1sts but that's a whole other topic). At the time it felt like the Bucks saying 'wait this is our whole plan and it looks better when you see the final result'.

1) People keep on looking at the wrong thing regarding the Bogdan situation.

It is not just about the shooting (btw Bogdan is a better shooter than DDV, plain and simple). It is mainly about the playmaking. The Bucks' biggest issue has been the playmaking. Wasted possessions, dribbling into traffic, overusage of Giannis etc. DDV does nothing to solve this.
You know how you break the wall teams are building to stop Giannis? Firstly with playmaking and secondarily with good shooting. You need to make the players that try to setup the wall uncertain on where/how to set it up, so you need to move the ball and win some 1v1s.

In my opinion, the Bogdan trade would have made the Bucks much much better in this aspect and much better overall.
None of the other options discussed (Harris/DDV etc) offer the same in this aspect.

2) There is a certain point when mistakes that are repeated and amateurish in nature need to stop. When people keep trying to minimize problematic situations, the result is what you get with the Bogdan situation right now.

you dont need 4 playmakers on the court. in fact thats a problem typically

from last year we needed

1. a good 2 way playmaking gaurd who doesnt choke wide open shots
2. improved shotmaking from giannis(pick the 3, the midrange, or the line....any one of those will do)

heres a secret.....the play at the sg was fine last year as was the center position. strong defense, unselfishness, and the ability to stretch the floor from those two positions we had. bledsoe was a playoff anomaly and we had to get off that. we did. next priority is replacing what we had the way we had it and giannis figuring it out.

ddv and a vet gaurd in the matthews mold is more than enough at the 2 guard imo.

Heres a not secret. It wasnt.

Wes is a good shooter and defender but has no other offense aside from catch and shoot and that slide step and shoot. Thats a big problem.

Same with Hill.

Same with DDV, although a worse shooter.

We need ballers not shooters.

This is true, if Bogdan has a big offer sheet done today then the ultimate reason this didn't happen was all about him getting more money.

Would still leave the question of who leaked the original deal. I guess it could have been Bogdan's agent in an attempt to alert other teams on what it would take to get him. That would be shady as hell but the risk you run doing this stuff early and under the table. If Bogdan gets more money it will certainly prove that they weren't getting him regardless of the leak but the leak caused some unnecessary embarrassment and potentially a an awkward situation with guys in the proposed deal.

I just don't get why his agent would leak it to drum up other offers when he could, you know, just call other teams?

We really only had 1 playmaker last year...Giannis. I guess you could consider Khris .5 playmaker...so 1.5. Jrue is going to help for sure, but Bog would've put us over the top. Above average shooting that would've gotten better with how much attention Giannis draws. I get people like DDV, he's an ok player..good guy off the bench...but Bog is far superior and would've made this team ridiculous.

If it was his agent, and if his agent has a history of **** teams over, then why is his agent still allowed to be an NBA agent?

I agree. I also find it hard to believe that agent would leak the bucks players names going out. A more simple drive up the price leak would be 'bucks very interested in Bogdan and have up to x amount that could work in a S&T'

He could have that history, but that still doesn't mean that he'd leak it. At least not for that purpose. He could do it under the table without potentially burning bridges with the Bucks and Kings like that. Bogdan isn't his only client.
