Not only do they not have the cap, they are well into the tax. If they exceed the apron, which they almost certainly will, they cannot receive an S&T player at all.

So what you're saying is Ibaka to the Nets is damn near impossible?

At this point, the only option is an outright signing, and all they have to offer are the taxpayer MLE and the veteran minimum.

So unless he settles for one of those, yes. The only other way is for him to sign elsewhere and then get traded to Brooklyn when the restriction is eventually lifted.

Makes plenty sense from a title odds perspective. Murray, Harden, Jokic quite the big 3. Don't see his personality too much different from Murray.

I definitely see the chemistry risk. One of the best things the Nuggets have going is that team is remarkably cohesive. Harden is a top 5 player and would make the Nuggets favorites on paper, but he has also been a diva and I am not sure how that would work with Jokic and Murray.

Who was the last finals team without a chemistry risk? Talent figures it out more time than not. Not like his personality has stopped him from having an elite impact.

We see how quick teams window of contending close. Jokic has 3 years left on his contract.

some noise about Delon Wright to Charlotte--which makes no sense with him as a player so I have this a paid salary dump and OKC having to take back no future money in a Gallo deal. Or the Kings in a Bogdan deal. Or the Celtics in a Hayward deal. Or?

Tbh there's not much Dallas can offer Orlando that would interest them.

They don't have any picks and their tangible assets they have are positions Orlando doesn't need to fill.

Love the fit for Dallas though.

Which means, why is this out here? It isn't a general Westbrook to Orlando was discussed, but Aaron Gordon was being discussed in a trade. Imo, I think it is more likely to be Orlando trying to remind everyone that Aaron Gordon -- nearly traded for a 'similar' package to Portland, is still there for the right taker.

Chuck are you hearing this on the radio or reading somewhere? I've been listening to The Ticket in Dallas all day and watching for rumor news, but haven't heard anything about that.

Rick Bonnell from Charlotte seems to be the source, but some guys on Mavs twitter also mentioning it.
