I certainly would entertain a Westbrook trade here. The guy plays like a guy on fire trying to douse himself. That’s the kinda guy we need. Some killer instinct. I’d do Westbrook for Fournier and Gordon. Maybe filler on Houston’s side if need be. Harden I’d stay away from, talent aside the dude is straight up weird. I don’t like his game, and I believe his teammates probably never like him. Just a feeling I get. He’d probably be fantastic with Vuc but I think Russ would be too. In the end though I think the Magic are trying to infuse some youth here.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

No one wants Westbrook he's washed up. Probably Westbrook's agent put this rumor out there

Washed up...27ppg, 8reb, 7assists playing next to possibly the most ball-dominant player in league history. I suppose he didn't average a triple double like the prior 3 seasons so you could say he's slacking. He will get older but you can't say it's happened yet. He's an MVP candidate this year and certainly for the 3 years he's under contract. This isn't John Wall sitting for 3 years or Andrew Wiggins negative value. Talking about a recent MVP in a horrible situation with another MVP in a horrible situation...let's take advantage.

I'd trade for Russell Westbrook too. But we already have Cole and Fultz at Point guard. How?

Take him Philly! You can have Fournier free as well! We know you need a bench!

I like DJ as a person and player but I hate to see him on the floor next to Fultz, so it s better if he is moved
Sign SRP to (1.2M) and Cain (2.5M)
use UP to the Full TPMLE (~$6.1M)
Spend up (11M$ - the amount we spent on the TPMLE)
waive + stretch Jonathan Isaac

I'd be bummed, but Fultz has to go...he's getting better, might be great but he's not the Westbeast. They couldn't co-exist and I think Markelle might be overwhelmed by the intensity rather than rise to it. Markelle has trade value now, so we could call it a successful reclamation and time to take a profit. I don't care about age...it's not like Westbrook's a year from retirement and there's NO guarantee that Fultz's shooting returns. I love the Fultz project and would only jump off for a tremendous opportunity - like a frustrated, pissed-off Westbrook looking for a new team to run.

He isn't washed, I don't think he ll fit our team but I think young players would learn from his fire and motor

This is the happiest I've been in an offseason as far as our team goes since the rebuild has started. We drafted one of the players I really wanted, we're likely to see DJ go. We're being active in the trade market apparently. Fournier might've requested a trade. Love all of those things.

I don't think he is washed. However, based on how everyone is staying away from him BUT THE KNICKS, I would say that there is something wrong with him that we as non-insiders are missing.

it's the money, if he was making $25-30M the contenders would be all over him, not just the dregs of the league. He is still very good, even if he can't knock down 3s. $44M is too much to build around him, and he is 32 with a lot of knee surgeries/scopes, and mileage

Westbrook being washed is really exaggerated. He was ballin before he got Covid and then got injured. Not saying Id do the deal but Im tired of the narative that hes washed. Absurd contract yes. Washed? 27/8/7 says no.

Not washed, just not at the point in his career (esp with the contract) to give anything more than Gordon. Fit issues here too.

I don’t think Westbrook is washed, but he is only really capable of playing one style at this point in his career and that style isn’t really one that’s suitable for having significant success.

Plus he makes over 40M each of the next three seasons.

There’s a bunch of reasons why it’s not a good idea.

One of the only reasons why any of us are even considering it is because of how boring the current incarnation of the Magic is. Westbrook, for all his warts, isn't boring.

Is resigning with the original team part of Free Agency. Specifically Giannis and Isaac.

That's a real good fit. Any idea what exceptions they have access to? Could we get in some S&T action?
