I think Lasry or whoever just got excited that they worked out the trade part with the Kings, knew Bogdan was interested in coming here, assumed he would be totally on board, and jumped the gun tipping off KOC/Woj/Shams.

That would make sense except for the part that his agent works for him at the end of the day. If he wanted to come here for the deal on the table he has the ultimate say.

Wouldn’t be shocked if the early version of the deal was Bledsoe and DDV which got him in the range he wanted.

Then Boston or someone ups their offer for Jrue, we panic and reconfigure that deal thinking we will just figure out Bogdan later. Ends up we don’t have the pieces to get him what he thinks he can get and pulls out of the deal.

But let’s see what happens. Giving up DDV hurts, but if it is going to cost Lopez to get him the money he wants, you are talking about a serious change. Also wouldn’t shock me they never considered RoLo opting out and figured him in one of the two deals.

I can't wait for the 10,000 word Tjarks deep dive on this on like, 3 years. There are some many possible failure points in all this, ranging from comically bad leaks in one or both front offices, to super shady agent work, to a career-scarring mistake by Woj, to wild inconsistencies and biases within the NBA itself. These scenarios aren't mutually exclusive, either. Hell, all of these have happened in succession!
