I think the Kings will actively look to move on from Bogdan. 13 mil a year is more like the range I think they’d keep him as a backup plan to move later at good value

I see the Kings matching any Bogi offer sheet unless they feel they can get great value in a sign & trade scenerio

Please don't do it, Kings. Just don't. The guy plays basketball like he absolutely hates playing basketball.

I would look elsewhere too but the guy has come a long way since his Sacramento stint. He is still limited but is good for what he is good at. If he's cheap (like, $10m-$13m), then perhaps but whatever. He isn't someone I would throw a fit if the Kings sign or don't sign. Unless, there are serious character concerns or attitude, he is just a name for us. Not really fit with the timeline but would be an upgrade over Holmes and the other bigs we have.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd want Whiteside here even if we got him for the minimum. I might be able to stomach it but that's just how much I do not like Whiteside. His attitude is still terrible and his effort comes and goes whenever he feels like it.

Sounds like he is toxic then. I haven't kept up with Whiteside but his numbers look very gaudy. If what you have said is true, then, he is a player we should avoid.

My first reaction is I’d rather have Holmes who is more timeline, but then Hassan sneakily has some solid impact numbers, and this FO seems about analytics

DONt know about the bagley fit

I'd rather just bring back Alex Len than sign Whiteside. Len played well for us and he's younger.

So I agree that Whiteside is a headcase and has shown zero motivation when he's paid. But if you're a team like the Kings, who have subpar perimeter defenders at the 2 and 3 spot (arguably the most important spots in the league to defend against), getting a 7'1 giant sized, defensive, shot altering center makes a lot of sense.

Squint hard enough and I get the reasoning.

Idk about you guys, but for that price, I don't even want to deal him. Bring him back and thats a no brainer. Send Buddy for cap space.

Yeah really I did not see him getting any less than 4/80 tbh.

If that is the price I pay and just try to make it a descending contract and don’t bat an eye.

That is also an easily movable deal either way.

Yeah from an analytics standpoint the value of a backstop Center that can block/change shots and rebound when you are running a shooting lineup goes off the charts in the modern NBA.

I just don’t think that 1) we can offer him enough unless it’s too much and 2) he does get attitude going and thinks very highly of himself, but also then takes plays off.

Shams Charania @ShamsCharania
Sacramento Kings young star De'Aaron Fox has agreed to a five-year, $163M maximum extension, with clause to reach the $195.6M super max, sources tell @The Athletic @Stadium. Deal negotiated by his agent @chrisgaston_ of @FamFirstSports.

Last time I checked, even with the Gallo signing, ATL has about ~$22m cap space left. They can still give Bogdan a huge deal.

I do not want to say for sure that Bogi can't some how sign a contract but my understanding he was just outside the Country and is on a plane back to the States so I think it i smost likely that no deal would happen tonight but maybe tomorrow or the next day is my guess.

They have a lot of young contracts coming up to be paid in the next several years, so not just about what they have now. IMO it’s good news in that the possibility is less they will sign him for a huge deal outright

We will see.

ATL is going to try to hit a home run and build a competitive team around Trey. Bogdan is one of the few players in the league where he can fit with any team and would be an almost seamless transition. I would watch ATL throwing a huge deal at Bogdan soon.
