Weaver surprised me again, but not in a good way.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
Yeah, this has me scratching my head for sure. It seems like Weaver is really cleaning house for all the young guys. Wood(s) is toast it would seem.
Back up for Stewart?
Help me out people.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
So $8mm for a year for a below average 30 year old center? Not impressed, Weaver.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
This is so strange. He's a hustle/energy guy so he fits the mold of being a Piston but he isn't someone that has much upside above what we've seen from him. He is a guy who takes a part of MLE not a guy who gets full MLE. I think he probably jumped at taking this money because it was a lot more than what was on the table from any other team he was likely going to be an afterthought.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
Seems high. Will be a lot of bigs that will be begging for contracts. He cant shoot. Hes like an energy big, but nothing special.
Would have been better off with a G-leaguer like Donta Hall for 1 million a year.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
Means Dedmon is being dealt or stretched. This is back-up center money, and along with Bradley and Stewart that is our Center position. Wood is gone and can't even S&T him as this eats up the cap space.
Weaver = Hinkie

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
Wood at $16 million per year would have been MUCH MUCH better than Plumlee at $8.33 this is so sad for me.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
Don’t get this one at all, it’s not really a bad contract I just don’t understand why we are making this move. I presume both Wood and Dedmon are gone

Honestly, if they were going this route with that money, I’d have preferred Aron Baynes.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
Wait cant we still sign Wood to a less than 10 million and he still counts 1.7 against the cap or something.
Or are we past that point.
If so that number in Weavers head was not near the one Wood muttered.

Re: Mason Plumlee 3/25
This deal makes zero sense. They dumped Kennard because they didn’t see a fit long term who is a better player and 5 years younger. I understand Weaver tearing it down but this deal makes no sense with the Dedman move.
