Now I see why we didn't want to use that 2nd round pick.

We kinda did use it with that Karim Mane guy.

I think i missed that signing, but I'd rather have Isaiah Joe on a rookie minimum than Bacon personally. Maybe they are playing Bacon at the 3. We'll see.

This stinks of Clifford. Free agency just opened. Shouldn't we have struck out with at least a dozen guys before we resorted to signing Bacon? How is this better than just snagging someone in the second round or keeping Wes?

Maybe our initial offers were already rejected and they decided to secure Bacon. :D

Think of the most uninspiring, lacklustre, marginal, irrelevant, boring, unimaginative, soul-sucking and life-draining move a team can make and this front office will do exactly that. I've been watching Magic Basketball for over 25 years. I've seen good GMs and I've seen bad GMs. But I've never seen a front office like this and I pray to God I never see the like again.

Wasn't he one of the stars at FSU on the team with Jonathan Isaac. Bacon was their primary scorer and Isaac was the defensive specialist on their 2017 team. He used to be a prolific scorer for FSU, right?

He's known for being on a long running comedy-drama show.

I am on board with this signing for 4 reasons
- Vet min contract
- Team option 2nd year
- Familiarity with Cliff will help to integrate during a rushed training camp
- Bacon related puns for the upcoming season are worth the money alone... Example:

What if they did speak to a dozen guys before him but just couldn't bring home the Bacon? 8-)

Edit: didn't see the team option, that makes it a bit easier pill to swallow

Vet minimum is what he is getting, with 3 years in, it is 1.7M a year.

-Bacon is sizzling from the field tonight.

-Bacon looking crisp.

-Bacon greasing the skids on his shooting slump.

A little bit of Klay's or Steph's DNA will help for sure. Cole will be alright.

That's a... very specific stat lol: (Point per game scored above an average offensive player in same amount of scoring opportunities)

Agreed.

This is a signing to fill out the roster and actually do that as Bacon will help out at the 3 and maybe some 2.

Bacon had a down year last year. Maybe Coach Clifford can get him back on track.

It's a minimum deal too so no real risk.

It's a user case scenario for the ORL coaches, scouts, and analytics to come together and find out more quickly what separates someone like Cole Anthony from someone like Dwayne Bacon. The same way it was supposed to be for JI and Aminu. The similarities even help the players themselves gain perspective and improve.

It's a slow-cooking experiment for the FO, but it will pay dividends for future player evals.
