With his legal and PR problems? WTF. Why didn't we just wait for him to sign an offer sheet and match it. I don't get this one tiny bit. If he goes to jail or gets suspended do we still have to pay him. This makes zero sense.
Hopefully there are many clauses in this deal.

Way way more than I thought he’d get. With only a handful of teams having space, his restricted status, and that pesky felony charge, this is really poor negotiating.

i think most professional sports contracts have behavioral/morals clauses in them that the team can void the contract when legal stuff comes up, but might have to go to arbitrator

That's a lot, not saying his production wont be worth it. I think he will be a flamethrower but it's surprising with his issues. My guess is maybe the front office sees it as a gesture of support/faith. I won't complain if Beasley shows up and gives 110 percent this season. I think he will have a HUGE year. I also think that if things go south he will be movable.

4th year is apparently a team option...so it's probably something like 3 years $42-45M kinda deal...I guess that's pretty decent as long as Beasley's off-court issues are sorted out. I was hoping for $12-13M AAV...slightly higher than what I thought but it's not a huge overpay based on what we have seen of Beasley at Wolves

Have to be honest, I'm relieved he's back for what he brings to the Wolves. I was hoping it would be closer to $12M per year.

It's less than Rubios contract and I think Beasley will be a lot more valuable. If he has a 20PPG level season 15 per year is going to look like a bargain. Also him turning down 3 year 30 million has worked out. If he didn't screw up so badly this summer he probably could have commanded more.

Also. Buddy Hield is on a four year 94 million dollar deal. It could be worse.

Obviously this must have certain stipulations on the lawsuit. No GM would do this without that, not even Kahn. This is just the initial reports, so lets not all get all worked up and over-react yet until the final reports come out.

Huh, maybe its me but I think this is a reasonable deal for us.

Off court issues aside, I thought he was going to ask for 17+.

4th year as a team option makes it a decent result imo

A $60 million gesture is a bit too much. Should have been a $20 million gesture.

Beasley has a nice 10-12 game run, gets $15/yr. Christian Wood had a similar 10-12 game streak where he averaged 20/10 and hit 3s, he gets a reasonable $9/year.

Plus, Wood was unrestricted while Beasley was restricted.

Love to have Rubio back, a lot...
But why then?

Russell, Rubio, Edwards, Beasley, Culver, Okogie...

Even if Edwards, Culver and Okogie can play the 3... Is still a lot of players with their natural positions being PG/SG
