That's fair. I certainly would not be advocating for him to start again. His value on defense just tends to be overlooked and undervalued around here. Creates a perimeter stopper hole, as you probably want Jrue/Midds to have enough in the tank to be effective on offense.

I'm pretty sure you want him to start. Not playing starter minutes, but playing with the starters. And especially playing versus the starters. Wes is at his worst when he has to make decisions on offense so you want to minimize that. And on defense he's best guarding the ball versus wings.

Yeah maybe, I'd definitely want him to close though. If we had him closing on Jimmy instead of Khris or gimpy Giannis, that series *might* have gone differently.

Bogdan signed their offer. It's up to Sac to match or not.

Oops, I missed that he actually signed the offer sheet.

EDIT: Or didnt?

Hold up I may be jumping the gun. The tweet read "expected to sign" the Hawks offer. I assumed that it was pretty much done between those 2 sides and that now Sacramento had to decide whether to match or not. If they match, they could look to trade him...

Coming off a bad year previously? I think not.

DDV is liking everyones comments saying they never wanted him gone and are happy he's back. So maybe it won't be awkward....

**** Wes for signing with the Lakers of all teams. I thought he was an adequate glue guy as the starting 2 and wanted him back. I can understand him leaving for more money but the lakers? **** off.

Don't remember me. I'm still livid about argueing with posters about Giannis guarding Butler vs Wes Matthews guarding Butler after game 1.

I wasn't a fan of his until I actually watched him play.

I think he understands that horst was just trying to improve the team. He can use this as motivation to improve his game.

Especially in the pandemic I thought money may be down.

What's happening is the league and players agreed on an 18% holdback escrow for this year and another 18% holdback for next year. (someone correct me if I'm off on this).

So if player X contract calls for $10 million this year and $10 million next year, he will likely only get $8.2 million each season. Now if league revenues come in higher, he'd collect additional money, and maybe the whole $10 million. But for the moment, these contract numbers aren't what they'll actually get paid next year, most likely.

Can't match an offer sheet and then trade immediately. Would have to wait till the trade deadline I think

Interested to see how this one plays out. I didn't think he'd amount to much but he played well in Detroit.

I thought he'd get more but for a guy who hasn't really made a dime yet he probably was more than happy to lock that in now.
