If we get Ibaka Then we don’t need him . He got his ring now he wants his Pay day . Probably should pass on him

Re: Dwight can’t play ‘for nothing’
This doesn't surprise me.
I'm pretty neutral to him coming back or not.
He was an important part of our team this year and I can't blame him for wanting to get more money.
He rebounded and defended well. he was also a pleasant surprise offensively.
If he goes, I think he can be easily replaced.

Re: Dwight can’t play ‘for nothing’
I'm reading his comments differently than this topic.
Remember that last year, Howard signed a non-guaranteed contract. I think he's basically saying the Lakers need to show more commitment this time around.
I believe a lot of teams are going to be interested in him, but I don't think he's going to get much more than the min.

If DHo signs elsewhere, i have to imagine that Javale McGee is more likely to opt in as his role as starter is still intact. Boogie should be more likely to come back for the Vet Min, as there's not a massive hole at C and we'd be willing to give him a pile of mins to recover his value. If Boogie comes back strong, he easily replaces McGee and will be set to get a strong deal next FA.

Yeah, well you reap what you sow... Let's be real... Dwight pulled his head out his ass for one season in the last 10 years and played great... But it was a little hard to trust just based on what we'd heard from him in the past... So all it takes is a quote like this that makes you think he's back to thinking he's super undervalued in the league, to see the writing on the wall...
Have to keep in mind, before we got him, he was basically out of the league... He had to beg us to give him a shot...
I don't want to read a whole lot into the quote though... If he just wants some guaranteed money I'm all in on keeping him, if his head is still right... But if he's got dollar signs in his eyes, I'm out.
But it all has to wait until we see what else is out there first... Just like the AD deal.
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

I think Dwight just wants a guaranteed contract. So offer him something that is reasonable. If he declines try to sign DMC and Ibaka or maybe even the Gasol brothers. Javale had opted in ang AD is coming back so Dwight leaving won't be much of a problem if we get to sign any of DMC, Ibaka or Marc Gasol. I just want to add Pau so he could retire as a Laker.

His D was elite and it mattered in the run. too bad, but not that surprising...
We do need a plan B for size with D though that isn't just Javale.

Re: Dwight To Philly
Dwight tweeted he was staying with the Lakers and sounded excited. Then all of a sudden he deleted the tweet. Lakers must have told him they were going another direction at the last minute. The Lakers wouldn't so no to him for 2.6m unless they had a better option.

He brought a toughness that is hard to replace.
Boards, D, and toughness.
I like Gasol, but he doesn't bring what Dwight brought.

That is very surprising, I thought he is going to resign with the Lakers but I am glad he screwed the Lakers again, haha

Agree that Gasol wouldn't be much of an upgrade over Dwight.
