Jackson has played on bad teams since he got drafted. He was given tons of playing time and played himself out of it.

Has be played a ton? Jackson has a career MPG of 24.3. For comparison Kennard has a career MPG of 23.3, and one of the biggest longstanding complaints on this board is Luke didn't play enough.

Jackson's biggest problem has been immaturity and making bad decisions. Its never a guarantee, but a lot of times those type of things get cleaned up as one gets older.

Josh Jackson always gave me the Charles Rogers vibe when it comes to needing to get away from
his hometown for his own benefit.

Clearly it didn’t do him any good though.

Hoping he’s matured and can find his place in the league.

1.3 TO per game last year at 17.3 MPG isn't so bad. He needs to increase those shooting %s and defend and he can still be an NBA rotation player even if he never lives up to his draft hype. If we pay him like 3 years $15 million I hate this, but if its only 2 years guaranteed at $2 million per year it makes a lot of sense for us to see what he can do.

Agreed, we drafted Bey and still have Seku, SVI and Ariza on the books. I’m not sure that I understand Weaver’s approach here.

Who did you want? a star? Or a young unproven guy with some potential. To out earn his contract and bring back some more assests?

I like this signing. I heard this was one of the guys we would or should look at. Either way, we don't have alot of proven players or depth at sg and sf.

Svi can start. Sekou hasn't proven he can start. Bey is a rookie and hasn't proven squat. Josh hasn't proven squat. Let's be honest, this team needs alot of help, even if you love their draft. We may have gotten one starter out of the draft.

On the backdrop, they say he may have finally gotten it and grew up a bit like Wood. time will tell. Still needs some development. If he has matured, maybe he will turn into something useful.

Jackson takes the place of Kennard, drafted ahead of both Kennard and Mitchell in 2017. At least it wasn't our draft mistake to be angry about anymore.

He has potential, but never going to be a star player. Best bet is probably Batum light type of a player. He is way too inefficient of a player at this point. I do like his defensive potential though, he can guard multiple positions.

Wing rotation taking shape now.

Can see us playing Bey, Jackson, Hayes, Svi minutes at the 2.

Sekou, Bey, Jackson, Svi at the 3.

I like this, local guy who seems to be finally maturing. He will never be a star player, but he can be a nice role player.

Bey is a 3/4 tweener

Same with Sekou - although he’s more of a 4.

To make a trade, you have to give someone that another team wants. No one wants Dedmon, Griffin or Ariza.

Someone wanted Dedmon and Ariza as Weaver just traded for them.

No wanted Ariza, he dealt for salary matching purposes. In regards to Dedmon, I can’t figure out that deal.

Really like this deal.

Like Plumlee the player not so much the deal.

Okafor is end of the bench just like he was in NO once Zion came back.

Once Dedmon is gone it will all make sense

So we'd get early bird rights... not full? I never understood that. Always limiting your ability to pay enough to keep if you develop them.
