If Gill is a low cost alternative to Bertans, it'll be interesting to see where the rest of our money will be used.

Wow. Gill is averaging 8.3 points a game for mediocre team. 44% on 3s, but only 2 attempts per game doesn’t indicate much. Don’t understand what makes him an nba player. Never could stick before.

He's a cheap discount davis clone probably min deal. Either way can't hurt it looks more and more like Tommy is building the 3-4 spot to be interchangable. Most of our forwards can blay both spots .

Looks like Bertans is meeting with the Nuggets, who have no capspace. Only way for him to go there is with a S&T.

Definitely feels like the wizards will be making a trade at some point. They have Avdija, Hachimura, possibly Bertans, Gill, Bryant, Wagner

I only heard that from an unverified guy on Twitter. Could be right, but who knows.

That's got Jerami Grant for Bertans swap written all over it, but I'd want some additional value--i.e. Bol Bol. Bertans is the type of guy that could really make their end game lineups unstoppable. Millsap was a guy you could play off a little bit in the post season.

Re: Potential Free Agent Signings
He (Gill) also shot out of his mind for Khimki in their domestic league games over the same period:
I think it's very reasonable to hope that the team does something a little splashier than this with its cap space during free agency, but Gill's been pretty phenomenally efficient offensively playing against solid competition over a reasonable period for data reliability. He looks like a solid athlete and all around a modern NBA forward. We may find out that he isn't, but this is the kind of deal that I think should be encouraged - looking for opportunities to find something from nothing.

It’s baffling to me as well, never though this guy NBA talent
But I guess wait until if it somehow fits with whatever else is planned on FA/Trades. Moe may be gone?

So Lakers get Denis Schoroder, Wesley Matthews and Montrezl Harrell. That's fair.

Was really struggling for a few hours completely questioning Sheppard's sanity. Good that the deal was signed.

Re: Potential Free Agent Signings
Only issue is the years-- 16 a season is whatever for his current and near term value.
If he is suddenly trash then it becomes a bad contract, but he literally just turned 28. Really good chance that contract will be moved fairly easily in year 3/4 of the deal imo.

He doesn't look like a Davis clone on video. He was a low post banger at UVA and overseas.

Well, two more pieces left. Get a defensive big. And a veteran 3. This still is going to be a poor defensive team. Good for Shep ggetting it done at $16 a year. Wall will certainly be happy assuming he stays.

80 m for Bertans for 4+1
Omg. This team never disappoints.
Imagine being average NBA guy and earning nearly 20m a year...

He looks great in his highlights, which is something you always like to see.
No, actually, I like him -- I assume he is cheap & that year 2 is our option.

Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

Re: Potential Free Agent Signings
That amount of money over that period is on the low side of what should have been expected for Bertans. Assuming nothing untoward happens to him in the meantime and that he performs essentially as he has over the last few years, it's likely that he's viewed as underpaid by the tail end of the deal.
e: to underscore the point Joe Harris just landed a four year, 75 million dollar deal.

Ok we got our man, not liking the 5th year but that's fine, now we have Wall (un-tested), Beal, & Bertans in-place which is a relief.
