This is a sign and trade apparently?

Guessing it will be part of the Ariza traded announced a few days ago.

Why both? We sacrifice Ibaka whos not going to sign here anyway for Wood. It's moot point anyways, the deal has been done.

because we only have cap room if both ibaka and fvv walk
if even 1 resigns we just have MLE.

Oh ok, thx for clearing that up.

I think we were in on him before he signed with the Spurs if memory serves. He'd be a great fit here.

Could but, but WTF are the Pistons doing? Ariza is more of a win now player. Why the **** do the Pistons want to win? They just traded a lot on draft day to get young talent. Why the **** you want to diminish your young player's development for a 8 seed treadmill?

Less jealous of the Wood deal now lol, that previous report seemed too good to be true for Houston. Still like the player though.

That's a solid deal. 13.6 mil AAV for a young C with upside. That makes sense. Honestly, the only team that has made complete head scratching deals are the Pistons. Edit: If the Pistons are doing a S&T for Griffin then this makes much more sense. Basically signing deals to just make salaries match is smart and a bit of addition by subtraction

Bertans deal is only 16mil a year. The term is a bit long but I guess the Wizards figured 16mil per is better than 20mil per for 4 years. And that is in-line with what Redick got from the 76ers and Pelicans over the past few seasons. 3 point shooting is always going to be valuable. And I mean, they could just front load the deal and make the last couple seasons easier to swallow.

Even the Harris deal is only 18.6 AAV. For one of the best shooters in the league on a contending team. They wouldn't have the cap space to sign someone similar. Plus playing with Durant and Kyrie will likely free him up.

Lakers have had a monstrous offseason. They came in only having the MLE/29th pick and vets, and somehow got 2 6moy caliber players and a Green replacement

Looks like our biggest move is going to be getting FVV back for 25M a year D= so sad Raptors taking a step back next year every team is getting way better this offseason and we are doing nothing

Just reading about players and all these teams - man, I really do only like the Raptors. I want the Lakers, Clippers, Bucks, Heat, Sixers, Boston, Pistons to all be trash for years to come.

montrezl is a special case, his contract will be an outlier, dont compare anything to him.
