They should have just kept Capela IMO.
Harden and Russ wanted the small ball.
Apparently, Houston attempted to trade for Woods before the deadline, so being wanted helps, and so does money.

Full MLE for a hustle guy. Crazy times...

At this rate Delon becomes a value contract. Hopefully we can dump him somewhere.

Welp. Dead tired here, almost 5 in the night - morning in a few hours... worth the wait - not really. Night, night. Hopefully some 'big' or atleast good news whenever i wake up. Night, night.

When you look at the kind of money that’s being given out I think I might rather just wait until the dust settles. Let’s see who falls through the cracks. Once Bogdon, and Hayward are off the market the FA will be pretty dried up. The Mavs could actually find them a bargain. Most of the teams handing out these contracts are going to regret them a year from now.

Too many guards. Who is going to play C? You only have Boban and Maxi. Powell is not even 100%. KP will be out and load managed.

Baynes, Thompson, Giles, and Ibaka are all still out there if they go the FA route.

Donnie and Mark belong in the hall of shame for free agency. This Front Office has no skill in regards to that

I guess that's some of the MLE

Unless Brunson is on the move, this is questionable. Maybe the last two years aren't guaranteed, but they probably are. I think they regret this one.

Would you rather they give out one of these crazy contracts to a mediocre bench player? I think Donnie and Mark are having a great off season. Don’t overpay trash.

The market is overheated. I'm fine sitting this one out. We only need a backup big anyway. Might also be a good strategy to keep some money dry for buyout season.

Christian Wood signed for smaller than expected, in the same state as us, and on the most dysfunctional team in the league yet we are gonna be forced into playing Justin Jackson again at this rate. Mavs need to figure out how to get one of Gasol/Millsap/Ibaka to sign here cheap otherwise our forward spots are gonna give us major issues without KP

There should a healthy skepticism on the front office when it comes to FA based on the their history of work. Anyways, the team needs a big man really bad. A specific kind of big man at that. Only of few FA's fit the description, maybe even only 2. I rather they close it quickly than wait it out. Else you get another Delon situation who is a good player but a bad fit.

Give it time. One of them will fall through the cracks and Mavs will likely end up getting a bargain. The worst thing they can do is knee jerk and overpay for an average player.

I’d rather be stuck with a Deleon situation than a Wes Matthews or Chandler Parsons situation. It’s much easier to deal with Deleon’s contract than it was Wes’ or Parsons’.

Denver might sign Milsap now out of need.

Toronto doesnt have a big man left. They might reconsider signing Ibaka as it will be tough for a US citizen to move to Canada and go back and fourth with his family given the covid restricitons moving forward.

If it's just a backup PF they are looking for then there are a ton of those in undrafted free agents. Even Ray Spalding, the former guy we drafted is unsigned now. He looks ok as a backup big. And there is always Salah Mejiri for the vet minimum.

Isn't that the same situation? They couldn't get anybody and settled on those players

We got James Johnson. Is this the former UFC fighter James Johnson?
