So Detroit came into the day with 23M in cap space (Ariza deal didn't happen yet) and now stretched Dedmon and McGruber to cut 14M more to have 37M to spend. SO first they'd sign and trade Wood to Houston for Ariza and #16, that cuts money down to 20M - but they've signed Plumlee for 8M, Grant for 20M and Jackson to some mystery amount (Okafor for vets minimum can be done at the end)

So I think Plumlee + Jackson money can only happen if Ariza is being S&T'd to Denver for either Plumlee or Grant.
I assume Jackson + Plumlee contracts = Ariza's 13M.

Does Denver see Ariza as a positive asset worty of taking on for one year? How much level of sweetener would Detroit need to add?

Detroit would seem to become -

Rose|Hayes
Jackson|Mykhailiuk
Grant|Bey
Griffin|Doumbouya
Plumlee|Stewart|Okafor

We couldn't afford to lose Morris, but $64 million does seem pretty excessive. It's not a "$80 million for Bertans" level overpay, but it's not ideal.

Bertans is a better player than Morris. Clippers would have loved to pay Bertans instead of Morris.

Hayward's lucky the Knicks are still on the board. Otherwise Ainge can be unreasonable knowing Hayward has to come back to him on a discount. Still don't think there is any way he gets Turner/Warren. I like Hayward more than most but no way.

Covington + >$5M cash
for
Wood+Detroit 1st top 16 prot+Portland 1st lotto prot, 52nd pick (KJ Martin)

Morey taught Stone well. Even if det wants their pick back in the S&T I'm very happy

So quick math here. As the deal stands MIL can take in an extra 6.82m plus 125% of anything else they send out. Don't know who they are specifically targeting but it has to be in that vague range.
