I disagree in large part with jumblin's take on Tatum, but he's got a right to have it. He's not a troll just because he's got an unpopular take. There absolutely are timelines where Tatum doesn't reach his potential.

At least it sounds reasoned when you say it. I don't agree at all but I feel I can have an adult conversation with you.

Well. You have to explain yourself a little more, than you have been doing.
I mean, you can't just come on the Celtics Forum, and say that their best player is essentially not "the guy".

It's not Hayward holding things up.
All the leaks are making it clear that Ainge is operating like he has the Pacers over a barrel. If Hayward joins the Knicks it might teach Ainge a lesson that you don't need to rob the other team blind every time you make a damn trade.

Re: Trade Thread #6: I Wood Walk 500 Myles
Hmm, if the Pacers are offering $25 mil for 4 years I think that is max value for Hayward.
I wouldn't want to pay him more than $20 a year max and that's if I liked him, which as an asset I don't. I have zero faith in his health year to year.
Not sure Stein's source is right here about the proposed offer, but I can see why Hayward would opt out if he's going to be massively overpaid again.

I feel like Ainge and Pritchard have already agreed on a framework of the deal. But Pacers holding firm on the max they would offer Hayward. Gordon wants more $$. And not from New York.

I don't think it's coincidence that we've cleared almost exactly $25 mil in tax space.
Scoonie had our offer at 4/100 days ago.
Now Stein's saying the same thing.

It really seems like Ainge knows Hayward isn't going to New York. It's either this sign and trade with the Pacers or he's staying with us.

The Tatum takes are my favorite. Attacking one of the best young stars in the league, and offering zero explanation is a very Michael Felger thing to do

He ain't going to the Knicks. It's a S&T with Indy, or back with us on a 4/100.
If I'm right, it's reasonable for Ainge to walk the tightrope. Just having Hayward back is a fine ballback.

Re: Trade Thread #6: I Wood Walk 500 Myles
My prediction is that our S&T gets pulled into the NO/MIL deal for Holiday. Remember, NO offered a top 5 pick for Turner last year. He's a great fit with Zion and Stan Van Gundy's system. They value him highly.
The MIL/NO deal was Holiday to MIL for George Hill, Eric Bledsoe and picks.
If MIL reroutes George Hill to us, they ar sending out enough salary to take back Turner with Bledsoe.
So in the end...
IND gives: Turner
IND gets: Hayward
MIL gives: Bledsoe, Hill, picks
MIL gets: Holiday
NO gives: Holiday
NO gets: Turner, Bledsoe, picks
BOS gives: Hayward
BOS gets: Hill, picks, TPE
The picks we get are from some combination of what MIL is giving up here, what NO has of their own and what NO has from the Lakers. The TPE is for the difference of what Hayward signs for and Hill's salary.
After this move we still have the full MLE and the bi-annual exception to use while staying under the cap. That can land a good big man and a wing shooter to go with Hill being a good bench piece. The TPE can be roll-over to next year. The picks restock the treasure chest since we're down to only our own now.

I believe this 100%. I think NYK is just hanging around just in case there's an opportunity, but not really forcing the issue.
Ainge is acting like he knows Gordo resigning here is the fallback. So he's playing a little hardball with IND.
Probably will come back down to earth eventually, and the deal gets done.

We don't want him to re-sign. Not with the Celtics.
Sign & Trade is the only option now.
Danny needs to work out a S&T with the Pacers.
